What did Google take into account during the December update?

Hey mate :)

I've made quite a few comments about the recent update and general DeepRank stuff since the 5th.

Hey @splishsplash It is not available for everyone.
Ah, thanks. I didn't realize that code is only for my logged in account. I thought it was a site wide token! :)

Could you please just make a thread by combining your thoughts and comments on the update? A lot of people in the forum are waiting to know your thoughts on it I guess.

SEO: PBN's and half way decent content = top ranks. Not a troll or bullshit. All this quality content garbage has been around for years but it still just comes down to having good links anyway. Even top tier content gets shoved down if its too in depth. I guess for unsubstantial content people would be unsatisfied and then head back to the search results once again to see more ads.

This is the first Google update that has negatively impacted my 2 years old website. I lost about 70% of my organic traffic overnight.

My question is can I do anything to improve my rankings? Like push out more content? Or just wait and see?

The thing is some of my articles still rank on the 1st page of Google, albeit at the bottom. Most of my other articles fell to the second or third page. The weird thing is that many of the articles that outrank me are old, crappy, and very short (under 1000 words). Whereas my content is always long (3-4,000 word count) and in-depth.

Extremely frustrating and demoralizing to say the least. Lost my livelihood with this update..

Pcmag and cnet content farms all on the first page.Google is selecting winners and losers.Google needs to be fucking sued.
