Anyone have ideas? I was one of the top payday affiliates before the update, ranking #1-3 on almost all US related payday keywords. I made a lot of money... but when they released that stupid fucking update I decided to take a 3+ week vacation to think about what's next.

Now, I'm back and wanting to promote payday again - but I honestly have no clue wtf they changed. Was it manual penalties? Did they decrease the effectiveness of a certain type of link (i.e. blog comments) or what? I have one site that remains, but the only main difference I find is that the domain is from 2007, and it didn't have as big of a link spike at the beginning.

Did they make Age more important with this update?

I would love to hear you guys views about this. Thanks for the help!~

From what I understand at least some of the keywords are manually watched. A friend of mine used to dominate some of these keywords but can't anymore.

I still see alot of people ranking for those keyword and banking hard at the same time your reading this post

I've heard that an update for blog comments was being implemented. Something down the lines of posts that didn't seem appropriate to the blog that were being commented on, as well as the post being under 300 words. These sort of things could have raised some sort of red flag for the algorithm, and ultimately penalized you. Wait to see what other's may have to say about the situation.

My personal suggestion, go and find those blog links/comments and request/get rid of them.

That is correct. Payday, insurance and the financial industry.

Google doing what Google does, bowing to the mighty dollar and playing favorites.

Even if you built a first class website, complied with all their rules and branded yourself, they hold your fate. They favor the Fortune 500 guys.

Hmm.. how were you top 3, when I was #2 for a while

definitely it's about money site authority (age, aged backlinks, user experience etc). It's not about your new backlink profile. hate 26 June
