What DA is considered good?

Like the title says, what DA is actually considered good or worthwhile? Obviously the higher, the better, but are DA 20 sites worth getting a backlink from? DA30? Essentially at what point is it considered not really worth it?

I only have access to semrush so I don't know all the differences between the different platforms, but has this changed with their new DA algorithm? I noticed a lot of sites lost quite a bit. For example, one I'm looking at is now DA 23, but it was DA 64 under the old algorithm.

Any DA above 20 is good. But just make sure the DA is not artificially inflated via spam redirects.

To be honest, DA just tells that the website has some good back links behind and has some good content, that's all. DA does not directly impact any sites standings in SERPs.

Appreciate it! Gives me an idea of what to look for. I know all the numbers are estimates anyway, but I still feel like the DA score typically gives an idea of how solid a site is. Just for backlink and outreach purposes, I wasn't sure what the low end I should target would be. I've been strictly trying to get backlinks from DA 70+ sites, and it is slow and few and far between. I wondered how much of a bigger range I could allow.

Along with DA, you should check DR.

DA is a son of Moz and DR is a daughter of AHREFs.

These two metrics combined will give you a fair idea of strength of any domain.
 
You can see different DA/ DR from different DA/DR checkers. You have to follow one tool and upgrade your DA up to 30+. You can follow Ahrefs to check your website DR.
 
DA after 20 or 30 is good but if it's just inflated through black hat means, it means nothing. Other metrics like Domain rating also matter a lot and of course, not to mention the traffic which is the most crucial factor.
 
Along with the DA/DR, check if the site is getting any organic traffic and ranking organically for any KWs.

I would say DA 30+ is good, but remember it is a MOZ metric and their crawler isn't the best. I would instead review the backlink profile of a host that I want a link from. You can compromise on the DA/DR or whatever metric if the host site is niche relevant, especially if it ranks for search terms that are relevant or closely related to your niche. A quick way to analyze would be to review Referring domains, incoming traffic numbers, and ranked keywords. Then go on the actual site and make sure it is not a link farm and the content is not all over the place on a bunch of topics. If it passes these filters then it is a good site to get a link from, regardless of the metrics.
 
DA is the metric by Moz that predicts that how well a website will rank on search engine result. like DA50 or above is considered good, while DA 60 and above are excellent.
 
Thanks everyone for all the responses, I really appreciate the help. I've got a small list put together and I guess I need to start trying to contact site owners and see if I can start getting backlinks. I'm a little worried it will be slow going but who knows. I was going to go the blackhat route out of impatience but I don't think it's the smart move with this one haha.

Oh a second note, one of the things I'm working on is a blog to supplement another site. It is good or bad to get/exchange backlinks with another blog that may essentially be competing for some of the same keywords? Not sure how the approach there works.
 
It really depends on your specific situation and goals. In general, sites with higher DA are considered more authoritative and valuable for backlinks. However, a backlink from a lower DA site can still be beneficial if the site is relevant to your niche and has high-quality content. It's also important to consider other factors like the site's traffic, engagement, and relevance to your target audience. As for SEMrush's new DA algorithm, it's still relatively new and there's not enough data yet to determine how it compares to other platforms.
 
Getting backlinks from blogs that have DA 20+ is really valuable , if the blog has a clean backlink profile. Check whether the recent posts are indexed as well.
 
DA is the metric assessed and shown up by the tool MOZ, this shows how well your site performs and its success rate.
As everyone said, DA20+ sites can be considered safe with good performance on SERP.
