what CPM rates shoud I expect?

so a little background I am recently developing a business model that has CPM as it's price model (pop-under/pop-up), the website has no explicit content but it would be classified under adults/NSFW...

from my understanding cpm generally has a reputation for low rates I even read here the other day one guy says that he receives around 1$ for one thousand impression which i couldn't understand because if the visitor is real human (as opposed to fake traffic) and has an interest why would it be that low?

so i would really appreciate if you provide me with some data points from your own experience just to get the general picture, thank you.

maybe it's not bad if the traffic is automated or from an incentivized source but we're talking here about potential customers for the advertiser.
 
i have such sites. all traffic from google. pretty good traffic. my CPM is LESS then 1$

are you still profitable with those rates? and why you don't consider another price model?
 
yes. but tbh i have another biz im more focused on.

one last question if you don't mind, i assume you're relying on seo as the main source, so how long did it take for your websites before attracting significant amount of organic traffic?
 
CPMs for popunders are usually related to the traffic performance. It’s not something fixed
 
as far as I know, there is traffic through the application, and the application can be minimized to tray, so there is not much sense
