How does YouTube count a legitimate view? Must the video be watched entirely? Volume at max? etc?

I think it's until the AD appears - 10 seconds, although I have no reasonable explanation for that.

It may also depend on the length of the video - say 10-20%

i dont think the amount of time matters in a view rather just the unique ip and no proxy
