What could explain such sudden and extreme fluctuations?

For years, this table has shown almost the same values, but suddenly, on December 7, 2024, you can see that they explode, and it happens across all stats. After that, something happens that I can't identify, and everything drops again.

across which stats more specifically? Traffic? Rankings? Indexed pages / non-indexed pages? Crawl errors?

However, regardless of which stat(s) you're talking about most of the time it's due to google's updates and / or internal errors (they've had a few indexation errors over the last couple of years), so this could be due to their thing again.

But again, until we know which stats you are talking about we can't draw an accurate conclusion, so give us meat :)

These kinds of abrupt variations could be a sign of outside factors like data corruption, algorithm changes, or system updates. Around December 7, 2024, review maintenance records or logs. Unusual user behavior, a cyberattack, or a brief malfunction in data reporting systems are additional potential causes. Trend and metadata analysis may yield new information.

It was overall, not INDEXING that didn't moved much more than usual.

But everything else went up, som with several 100% and they stayed there 16 days as you can see.

Only thing that we had problems with was cloudflare, first everything went fine with installing their warp, then suddenly out of the blue warp stopped working and bang above stats went the arrow down.

Cloudflare can't explain much in their support, very busy they say, but could this really be warp, I don't think so.

I'm experiencing this aswell. From 1.3M indexed pages, now i have around 943k. But i have over 4M articles on my website. Google is starting to catch up with all of them and i have now about 1.3M crawler-currently not indexed and 943K indexed. I think is just a fluctuation of data or Google it's just starting to crawl your website entirely. I have't seen any changes in my traffic.
