Let me start: I discovered blackhat marketing back in the MySpace plays/bot age as a kid. It was the biggest thing for blackhat marketing at the time.

Who remember's the day you found out about blackhat marketing or SEO and what motivated you?

I started black hat a few years ago after a white hat website of mine got deindexed. I did everything by the book and still paid the price.

Once I moved over to black hat SEO and started ranking and seeing greater income coming in, I've never looked back.

Twitter in 2015. i read an article on some well known news source about a guy who runs thousands of fake profiles and i thought that it is so cool

It was hanging out with hackers in an online game that first piqued my interest in all things black hat.

Kindle, a competitor in my niche outranked and out reviewed me for a topic I was super passionate about. He didn't know shit about anything, probably made 20x amount I did.

Gave up on Kindle, joined bhw, been going uphill since.

Like most people was legit, got cheated so thought fuck it.

And Still ?

Waking up at 7am to travel 1 hour to get to work, to do an 8 hour shift and be talked to like I was a piece of dog shit, then do a 1 hour journey home, to fall asleep and repeat. Then at the end of the week, hand all my money over, then rinse and repeat.

Someone once told me "Evil is the root of all money." (LOL!) :D

Just Kidding, Folks . . . :)

When I began this "hacker" stage of my life.

I used to play a lot of online games, one day I decided to livestream myself playing minecraft (I was like, 12 at the time) and I got IP logged and ddosed. (Clicked a shady link in chat lol)

So, I was like "Well, fuck me, I wanna be cool and do this shit too."

So then I started learning about botnets, rat programs like nanocore, ransomware, SQL injections. (Just a bunch of nasty shit.)

Never really did anything bad though except for dox the person who ddosed me and called his moms phone a bunch of times saying all of the bad shit her son was doing online. :D

I'm glad I have left that stage in the past.

I think a lot of white hats who joined BHW probably had a similar experience seeing all their hard work getting shot down by GOOG and decided to rebel against the system.

Started over 10 years ago back in highschool when the internet was more like the wild west (so many fun tools - xrumer was king, along with things like LinkWhore, PRStorm, Trackback Spider - and my personal favorite - Fantomas Shadowmaker). There were tactics and tools that are no longer discussed here, but it was a different time and it was fascinating. You could literally click a few buttons and make money, ranking was easy and things were so primitive.

Now it's a whole different story - white hat is easier (IMO), more sustainable, and worth the effort. But it sure was fun while it lasted.

when i had my car dealership - fully legit set up - with the goal of selling cars mainly online- that was 10 years ago and

my ad's on craigslist were getting ghosted so I stumbled up this site and it's been downhill ever since.

It's been literally a life changing event finding this place.

Back in the day when Big G was in it's infancy and stupid as sheit, I used to brag to friends that my one page website with hardly any content on it was ranked number one beating out competitors sites that had reams of content and looked way better than mine. All I did was threw a bunch of shitty links at my site and boom. I didn't pay any attention to my site or the internet for a number of years, and when I woke up one day and looked, my site was knocked back a few pages on Big G.
I became determined to regain top ranking and somehow stumbled on to here and learned to feed Big G what it wants.
