Hi!
I am looking to buy a new computer, so I can get things going
I'm really unsure of what computer brand to choose, I'm leaning toward ASUS.
I want to hear your opinions, what computer brand you think is great, and why :)

Thanks for answers

Really depends what you need if for and how much you are willing to spend. In my opinion anyway.

Depends what you want, but if you are going for a windows based computer, dell, thinkpad series, samsung, asus are good companies with durability.

Asus or Dell. HP used in lots of workplaces, so consider their PCs as well.

But, to tell the truth, nothing beats home build self-moded monster, even if its not as cheap as package bought deal.

Asus all the way for me. Had dell, hp and they just don't compare.

I just helped another BHW member pick out a great laptop. I will be more then willing to help find the best deal for your budget if you want. Simply PM what you're looking for and I will see what I can dig up for you.

I use an assembled computer with Intel motherboard, Intel i7 processor, 8GB RAM. It seems to be going quite well. No problems at all. If I had bought the same specs from a brand name computer, I would have probably paid at least 30% more.

Great point! Indeed, building a system is a lot cheaper route if you need a tower.

OP, are you looking for a tower/desktop setup or a laptop?

If for the laptop I would choose Lenovo but it really depends on your budget and expectations.

Dell XPS 15Z was my most recent purchase. I've been more than happy with this great piece of equipment.

i like my 5 yo Toshiba Tecra, never had the slightest problem with it

My laptop is samsung :)

By computer, I hope you mean laptop.

I will never buy a computer other than a laptop again in my life.

For laptops, I recommend the following:

  • anything by Toshiba - they make great laptops
  • Sony VAIO - these are also great

Toshiba is good if you don't aren't seriously into gaming or graphics desing programs.
Dell breaks down fukc fast.
HP breaks down after you sneeze on it.
Mac's are 4x the price of a regular laptop + a vanilla glaizure

Go with ASUS. ASUS bro!
