Hello,

What comments are you posting to other groups and fanpages to promote your site on facebook?

Are you posting a promo comment with a link directly, or a useful comment without link so the other users check out your fan page and then go to your site?

Thank you.

Depends on your goal. For long term projects, only relevant comments using your page account to post. Eventually folks will click through. For churn n burn and less priority projects just post something slightly relevant and a link.

It's not really worth to post the link by itself if you're manually posting. Just get a tool to spam links for you and you will get a lot more out of it.

Of course it's better to post manually and type things which could actually draw interest. You just have to choose your path and see which one works better for you.

OR do it as per the group you are posting, if it is a genuine interest group then manual posting with link and comments would draw more interest.

I don't click to visit people fanpage to visit website; so, I don't expect people will do it for me.
And, I don't like to send people to home page where there is a specific page which may help. So, I like to answer with a link when I have an article that solve a problem. But I take the time to read and add value in the comment.

Depends on the group and the content i am posting, generally write 2-3 lines and leave the climax for the user to find out.

Mostly I don't out urls but i do give the name of website and let interested people to find out using google.
