What comment platform should I use for wordpress?

Akismet if I want to continue using the native Wordpress commenting. For really legit sites that do get alot of discussion I also swap over to Facebook comments. Not only great against spam but credibility is much higher for readers imo

OK, here's what I get from this.


First of all, install captcha as it will definitely cut a large percentage of spam.


Install akismet.


Uncheck the option "Comment author must have a previously approved comment"


Check "An administrator must always approve the comment"


Uncheck both options for "Email me whenever"


That should help cut down the spam by a large sum.

Has anyone tried fake Facebook comments to rank their site?

Facebook comments do get indexed by G, it was announced a long time ago.

Install Akismet plugin, get a Akismet API key and set it up. Then install Jetpack plugin and enable comments, user then can use Wordpress account (Gravatar) or FB.
