What causes slow ad spend?
I created a campaign for about 2 days with a budget of $100 but in 2 days I only spent about $45
what is the reason ?

Ads spend slowly because the algorithm is learning, the audience is narrow, or the bid is low.
Expand your targeting, add new creatives, and let Meta learn enough data, the spend will stabilize after 3–5 days.

I think
1. Facebook’s Delivery Optimization
2. Limited Audience Size
3. Learning Phase or Low Data
4. Bidding & Competition
5. Ad Quality or Policy Restrictions

The algorithm is “learning” — if the signal is weak (low CTR, duplicate creative, narrow targeting), Facebook will slow down to save budget.

Slow ad spend happens when your audience is too small, competition is high, or your bid/settings limit delivery. Broaden targeting or increase bid to fix it.

It’s probably the targeting or your bid being too low—try broadening your audience or tweaking the budget pacing to get it flowing faster.

Slow spending is often due to the camp not having enough learning signals or the target being too narrow, causing the system to not find enough suitable people to distribute. In addition, weak creative, too low bid cap, or incompatible budget/day limit with the file also causes delivery to be stuck. Sometimes, it is also due to account trust or payment method being slightly limited by Meta, so the spending pace decreases. Do you make any adjustments during the running process or let the distribution be completely automatic?

When your learning phase is incomplete or your ad is low relevance to your target audience, Meta will limit delivery. Try refreshing your creative and expanding your target audience until the system collects enough signals

What causes slow ad spend is if your audience is very small.the system struggles to find eligible impressions and if your ads aren’t compelling, you’ll lose auctions to better performing ones.

Maybe because your budget is too low, the advertising system will face many limitations and directly affect performance

Also don't forget to check pixel quality

A few things could be causing it: low audience size, narrow targeting, low bids, or ad relevance quality issues. Google wont spend your full budget if it cant find enough suitable impressions that meet your settings.

Sometimes the platform paces spending to optimize performance. Try expanding your audience or adjusting bid strategy that usually helps the budget get fully utilized.

Check if your ads are approved and running across all devices and networks disapproved or restricted ads can slow down spending significantly.

Slow ad spend can happen for a number of reasons: your audience is low, your images are saturated, or your ads have been flagged for violations.

due to a new ad account or your bid strategy being affected

This usually happens when Facebook’s system is still learning or if your target audience is too small. You can try expanding your audience and testing a few different creatives — sometimes Facebook will temporarily limit your spend until the algorithm is confident enough to deliver effectively.

Check the daily spending limit on your account. Perhaps due to the fact that the account is new, you just ran into the spending limit.
