What car do you drive?

It's not he 1960-80 EVERYTHING is done via database not on a handshake... Even comparing 2000 to 1990s things changed in terms of how lending and banking works... BUT as I said if you in that league of money opens doors and you do everything behind closed doors then I can't work out why you are on a forum.

Look, just as an example, there's difference between downloading a trading app on a phone to play and sitting with it's directors for some special service? It's got nothing to do with what you're saying. Some sales rep doing data entry who doesn't give two shits about random people calling isn't going to cut it - obviously.
That's an extreme example above, I mean you're making it out that I just bought a private jet or something. Get a grip. I'm probably upper middle class right at the best of times, not that age or income should have anything to do with wanting to work harder. Unless you're like a hundred bajillion years old.

If I was buying 60k+ cars at 18/19 id be having other people do the IM for me.. Id drive around and be looking to get some fun.

What do you mean 'have fun' if it means what i think it means then it might be a good job you never had one ;) not that i'm saying a decent motor does all the work (if you've got some standards that is) but yes it does turn heads.
IF you are a pikey I doubt you got insurance anyway ;)

Haha, I was just being facetious. Actually, last I seen pady doherty drove a neat M3

I don't understand any of that. Or WTF you are talking about. I don't know what a trading app or some kind of "special" service has anything to do with car insurance or what we are talking about.

I said I went on comparethemarket.com pretended to be a 19 year old and tried to get insurance for a Q7 S line and no one would quote me.

You said a database doesn't make any difference to getting insurance when it's down to who you know.

I said this isn't the 1980s. Everything is run on a database now so it does kind of matter UNLESS you have a lot of money.

I've been lucky enough to experience the world to have money and to not have money I like to think I got a pretty good understanding on things and from my own experience I'm calling bullshit on the insurance.

No I understand you didn't buy a jet or anything like that. Your just saying you bought a 65k car and got 5k insurance on it. Before you reply I understand you said OVER 5k but if your going to use 5K as a ball park figure I'm guessing its under 5500...

You may have bought the car if you have then kudos. Getting insurance is a different matter.

I don't believe it's down to someone you may or may not know can get you a "deal" Insurance is the most cut throat business there is.

I'm not even going to touch on the whole money vs class vs age as that's a whole other argument. For your age if you consider your self to be upper middle class then I assume your family has money and not you as class structure tends to and does from age.. Other wise your just a kid with money ... see another topic ;)

I'm done.

tl;dr dude but maybe you should worry a little less about the workings of the world outside of your really narrow view of things and a little more about why your priorities in life involve dreaming about getting a half decent motor so you can prowl the streets looking for fun. Creepy.

Anywhere I don’t know what the purpose of you posting here actually was but you’re boring me now. And you’re just honestly starting to sound a little bitter quite frankly. So i’m done.

F-150, GMC 1500 and Dodge Durango.. I like big trucks and I cannot lie.

Currently driving an old Audi (1998) and even back then the steering is really good. Ive driven other cars, even new budged ones and the steering is not as good lol. I am thinking about buying Audi or Mercedes for my second car. Not new as i dont have the cash for it but maybe 2010-2012. I gotta finish my flat tho. The building just got bult and i will have to throw all of my saved money for it. So ill be driving my old reliable car with cheap parts for the next year as well hehe. As I am young when i buy my next car it will be under my moms name as the insurance is much lower.

It's interesting to see insurance companies charge premiums based on the owner's age. India doesn't have such a policy.

I just recently traded my 320d in for a Land Rover Freelander 2, love it! Older than my beemer, but it's a right beast and great for the home DIY.

I remember before I was 25 the insurance rates were through the roof and its still that way in the US. It makes sense with inexperienced driver statistics, but it sucks for someone who is young and broke.. My insurance almost doubled when I added my 16 yo son to my policy, that was when he got a job lol.

Yup, the insurance doubles for young drivers. Thats why the car is under my moms name and I got a notarial act that states i can do whatever I want with the car (sell it and etc.)

1985 when I was in the military I'd just passed my driving test and was a police trained driver but was 3 months shy of my 18th birthday.

1985 was a good year to pass the driving tests .. got my license then to, around 3 month after I was 18 .. =)

I'm driving Peugeot 207 from the year 2007. I've actually sold it to my brother because I needed some money for investment. I'm gonna be borrowing my dads' car after the Summer and I won't be buying my own car because as I'm focusing on investing in assets at the moment

nothing as of now... but will buy COOPER
