So i won a domain in an auction, it was a big hotel site

When i tried to activate it, it still have traffic, some ppl still asking for booking room and asking price

I tried to contact the hotel about this but there was no response, it seems they only operate offline, no longer online

Despite their hotel looks so expensive and luxury, but i got their domain name, the hotel is still operate when i see on google

What can i do with this domain?

You can try renting guests/bookings to other hotel or try booking affiliate program.. :)

Yeah i also thinking this way, but i would need to manage and optimize the site properly which is take time.

even now there are 77 active guests on the site page that i temporary created.

The good part is that the domain is still getting traffic, so turn it into an opportunity!
You could make money by redirecting the traffic to hotel booking sites like Booking.com for a commission. Else you could also create a travel blog or guide and keep the traffic. And adding ads to the site is another way to earn money from it!

i've got some restaurant domain a couple of years back that still gets a few emails on a daily basis (forwarded), mainly for booking & few collabs,
you can surely monetize it, but it could get you some legal problems, i didn't bother to try for a few emails, but just keep that in mind if you're willing to

You might be in trouble if you try to develop the domain name of a hotel and they've trademarked it.

You might want to look at the ICAN regulations and standards regarding trademarkes named.

You might want to do your research first so you avoid getting into hot water.

Now if you are still going to develop that name but for a totally different product or service category, you might be able to get away with it.

If it's not trademarked, the argument could be made that it is fair game.

There is no consumer confusion because the website is for a completely different type of product or service.

You can try reaching out to the hotel again to sell the domain back to them. If there's no response, you could redirect the traffic to a travel-related site or use affiliate marketing to generate income. Another option is to sell the domain or build a new website and take advantage of the existing traffic. Just make sure you're following legal guidelines. Hope you well!
