Just curious to know what brought everyone to BHW in the first place.

Was it SEO, online business, affiliate marketing, freelancing, or simply learning something new?

Looking forward to hearing everyone’s story.

One glorious day about 12 years ago I searched for "how to make money online in unique ways" or something like that, now here we are! I was ready to graduate to more advanced methods.

in Goggles own words - why i came to BHW

On BlackHatWorld (BHW), "when thanks just isn't enough" is an iconic reference to a
legendary, heartwarming forum thread titled when thanks just isnt enough

The thread centers around ProxyGo (a highly respected, longtime BHW Elite Member
and legendary proxy provider) and an emotional event involving the loss of his beloved
dog, Sadie. Another prominent forum member went well beyond a simple
"Thanks" button click by custom-making and sending ProxyGo a physical dog urn to
honor Sadie's memory

The phrase has since lived on in BHW lore as a testament to the real, human
community spirit that exists behind the black-hat marketing avatars

Came looking for an answer to one specific problem, found the thread, and then never left. Pretty sure that’s most people here.

Stayed for the post mortems more than anything. Everywhere else you only read about what worked, here people actually post the site that got deindexed and what they think caused it. That’s the useful half.

The search towards the hope.. My boss introduced it to me, I must say, im grateful to BHW... It raised the standard of my life..

Since I've been active on various message boards since 2005. BHW caught my eye as it was an incredibly active board (and still is).

Registered the original account back in 2010, but didn't use it much.
Now that I realized that this is where the action is, made a comeback, got my Junior VIP, at last, and checking in pretty much daily.

Main topics of interest - first-hand experience, journeys, social media, SEO and automation services and more.

One thing that still holds true, this is a place. where one can find a solution for pretty much anything.

I first ran across BHW way back in summer of 2007 when I got a job with an affiliate website in the adult industry.

I remember that only weeks before the staff had moved from the site owner's attic to an office. They had also just built a FHG (free hosted gallery) importer for all of the websites that created FHGs as promotional material. The affiliate site owner had literally hundreds of CSV files that had all the FHGs they hadn't linked in the site before and my first task was to get all of the FHGs uploaded.

My second task was looking for sites with affiliate programs we hadn't signed up for, get us signed up and get the link code up on the website.

Up until this point I had only had 2 "adult" jobs. I had worked at McDonalds through highschool and college and then I went on to work at a juvenile detention facility in PA and FL. My direct report was using all of the slang like link code, FHG, affiliate ID, etc and I had no idea what the hell he was talking about. But I know how to google! Google gave me results from BHW and I soon learned what all of the terms were, what they were and how to interact with these things. I looked like I was smart and knew what I was doing because of this forum. I also managed to find several affiliate programs we hadn't signed up to through BHW as well. :D

I can't remember if I had ever actually made an account, but I came back quite a bit in the first few years to read up on different subjects, especially as we started to get into the SEO game. However, at some point I had moved on and stopped coming until I ran across a job posting looking for a team member almost 2 years ago. And now, here we are.

For me to learn and do some expert level seo's stuff and bhw have plenty of seo rabbit holes to fall into start with one question and somehow end up learning five other things.

I came here to look for some guy who has builtwith or wappalyzer account and can create report for me. I opened thread tomorrow and now i don't have privileges to reply to my own thread.

My presence on BHW is mainly due to SEO and link building. But eventually, it went beyond that as it has been helpful in terms of knowing what works in the market and sharing my experiences.

SEO was what first brought me to BHW, but after that thing i become interested in all the actual world tests that members conduct and post. There are many forums where people get to know things through reading old topics.

I liked how the people and mods here interacted.. so I started reading a few threads and signed up

I just entered here for business purposes. After that, I strongly believe this not only helps my business but also helps build a stronger growing community, more than what I expected.
