As title says just how much of a boost does having ssl give you?

As far as ranking, I would say minimal at best. I wouldn't run out to do it to improve rankings.

In terms of security it gives you a good boost, so it could definitely be worth it for other reasons.

Seems SSL is the way to go regardless of the size of the boost.

No one knows, Google has said its minimal so that's the only answer you're going to get. However, you shouldn't do it just because of SEO, do it because protecting your users is the right thing to do.
