I have been thinking about the new year - 2022 - and my resolutions which I know is a bit of a cliche but I also think its very important. For me I don't want to make it about kidding myself on that I am going to do loads of new shit, but its more about taking a second to reflect on where I am at in life, what's happened in the past year and having a quick look at the bigger picture - where am I trying to get to in life, aside from the day to day stuff?

The new years resolutions for me are about that; reminding myself what I am really aiming for in life and then using that to motivate myself on a daily basis.

That said, my resolutions are as follows -

  • Spend more time with my family - my wife, my kids, my parents and my sisters. This is a big one for me because I spend a lot of my time working and running my business but then I have to remind myself that the only reason I am doing that, is to be able to enjoy life - which means spending time with the people I love. So my first new years resolution is to keep that balance right.
  • Beleive in myself - I am someone that doubts themselves a lot, in many aspects of life. This year I am going to work harder at changing that. So my second new years resolution is to beleive in myself more.
  • Make some new friends - I am generally somewhat of a recluse; I like my own company and I am not a great socialiser, but I am going to work on changing that and making some more friends in 2022 because I think making connections with people is one of the most important things in life.
  • Get that 6-pack - You have to have at least one material or cosmetic resolution right? I want to get the 6-pack I have been working towards, which is really just about becoming fitter and healthier.
  • Progress my Kung-Fu - I am aiming to go from green sash to yellow sash this year and then work towards purple.

What are your new years resolutions?

From a personal standpoint, I'm aiming to get lean body composition wise. I was really close last year but didn't quite hit the mark. Then there's professional stuff and it involves obtaining certifications for my job but also enhancing my resume for better opportunities

Good goal mate. are you aiming for a particular bodyfat percentage or what? I spent a lot of time on that last year and I found it very hard - I felt like I hadn't got anywhere but I think it just takes a lot of time. A year later and I have lost some definition from putting on weight but I definitely feel stronger so now I am going back to dieting and I am going to try and lose some fat and hope that the additional muscle sticks around.

"new years resolutions"
Every year I`m amazed to see how people actually waiting for the calendar to reset, for them to make changes in their lives.

Whatever your resolutions are, they should have been fixed already, and if not, the best time is now, not to wait for the calendar to reset.

Happy new year BHW!

The hard number I'm aiming for is 12%. That seems to be the threshold before you start seeing significant definition. Anything more less gets much harder and isn't as practical to walk around with.

My resolutions are:
Business:
1. I need to find a partner to take care of recruiting clients and client management. This will allow me to focus on what I'm good at, and to scale my income without working more.
2. I want to work more with my wife. She is super talented and I'm considering myself lucky that we're both doing IM.
3. I want to expand my skillset. I was always very much into paid search and PPC in general, but want to get into SEO more, which leads me to my last business related point.
4. I want a steady income from a project that involes something I like to write about.

Family and personal life:
1. I want to spend more 1 on 1 time with my daughter. Hopefully to have a shared hobby.
2. Listen to more music, and learn to play another instrument.
3. I really hope to run out of excuses and finally stop smoking.

I will try for something similar. At the moment I am around 15-16% I beleive. Do you have a strategy in place for it? I am going on a diet as of today (Slimming world) which is pretty good in that it makes it easy to eat healthily but I know from experience I can lose weight slowly and consistently as long as I stick to it. I will probably just do some light exercise along with that.

Good, well thought out goals. Smoking - work on that one please, it will be the best thing you do and probably will have a positive impact on all of the others on your list.

1.Focus on Health equally as Business.
2.Make New Friends, I am an Introvert :D
3.Probably get uncomfortable and talk with new females, And probably date if I get a chance lol.
4.Be more Disciplined.
5.Not going too hard on myself, Previously I was very hard on myself in 2021.

It's good to have new year's resolutions, but it's even better to have actionable steps written that you will have to take in order to reach those resolutions.
