I'm currently doing some reputation management for a client, and they have a negative newspaper article about them on page 1 of a search for the company name.

I'm planning on ranking above it with their various social media accounts with some pbn backlinks pointing at them, but there are only so many social media sites before I have to start ranking other pages.

What other pages/websites are easy to access and rank with an article about the company and a few backlinks?

I am doing the same for a client: having blog posts on high DR / DA news portals + backlinks to these posts + CTR manipulation has been working very well: my client had 6 bad press articles on google in 2 countries, they now are all on page 2 of google, sometimes page 3....

But for that, you need budget.

Drop the client... and find some decent clients instead.
You don't know what to do... that's why they asked you as knowledgable people wouldn't take them.

it makes me think: would a client needs such help to get rid of negative press release, pay their invoices ontime or at all?

@Poker Rakeback Mafia - i hope you got paid in advance!

I'd throw a few million shitty spammy backlinks at the article - make sure you use shit like cialis and penis enhancer for anchor txts.

I doubt that would work anymore. google just ignores shitty backlinks these days. this negative seo might have worked before, but not now.

If it’s within your budget you can buy some big urls like huff post Forbes etc

Buy ads and buy 5 domains and run ads for each domain on those key terms that the article comes up for.

Now you have the "first 5 results" filled and we know from stats that people don't go past the first page or look much further after the first 3 results.

While I haven't done anything related to this. But I think you can drawn the negative article with many positive articles. Create positive articles about your client and their business. Just as was done on the negative article, but this time let it be positive. Publish them on various platforms, including parasites and all.

Also, publish some as guestpost/sponsored content on big and reputable websites. This way, there would be too many good 'review' of your client and their business, enough to overlook the negative one on the siad newspaper website.
