google keyword planner is still fine to use. You just need to used an account that spending budget

For me I use these tools in this order:
Keyword planner
-to get keyword ideas
Ubersuggest
-more keyword ideas and info such as traffic and competitiveness
Kwfinder
-check the stats and see if they’re similar to ubersuggest since kwfinder is more accurate
That’s all I really check. If it gets traffic and it isn’t hard, then I’m happy with it

I use mainly to extension of keywordeverywhere or I look synonymous with words. And above all common sense
