What are Three Important Principles for the opening of a cold call with the decision maker

Cold callers on the forum what ya think?

Not a cold caller but this method has always stuck with me. I guess it could be deemed as one of the main pillar, if the not the principal cornerstone of cold calling.

So what according to you are the three principles from that video for the opening with the decision maker?

Cold calling is a sport! If I had to summarize cold calling in 3 steps here they are:

1) Do your research
2) Establish trust
3) Dont give up

So, do your research. Doesn't have to be much, know the prospect beyond their name. Know their interest, habits, idk anything else that could help you out. The more details the better. You'll be surprised how many cold callers don't even bother searching a name in google

Establish trust, in the first 10 seconds. Make a good impression. Be excited but match your prospects tone. Have your pitch be just a little bit higher/louder than your prospect. How do you establish trust? Theres a lot of ways and this deserves multiple articles but it really goes back to research. Establishing trust is a lot easier if you know what problems your prospect is facing already.

Don't give up. Follow ups are important and you'll need to followup on prospects. Be professional about it, don't spam. Many time, cold callers get trapped by gatekeepers or give up after the classic "Im busy right now". And yes, they may be busy, but everyone is busy and is always busy so it is your job in the first 15 seconds to explain why they should or should not be committing their valuable time right now to talk for the next 30 minutes.

I usually say something like this(I'm using a lot of interchangeable voice and you cant script this out. Its a different delivery for every different type of person) oh sorry Ill give you a call back later but before we leave off, I just want you to know that client X(prospect customer/client to your prospect) signed up with us and they went form 100k to 1 million so I really want to help you get started. Anyways, have a good day.

Then in your follow up email, before you call them again, you can reference this case study or revisit the benefit you just pitched.

Cold calling is hard. Most people who cold call suck. They use a script, they don't research, they ask stupid questions, and most importantly they don't listen!

I know when someone is going to buy in the first five minutes of a cold call. How? I look to see if they ask me questions. Your prospect should be talking more than you! Like 50% more, the more the better.

Ik this post got long and didn't stick to the format lol. I really love talking about sales and every aspect of it. So maybe I'll start making my own threads just to voice my thoughts on this subject. This post is a really good example on how not to do sales lol bc I honestly think at this point my writing gets confusing.

I see. You can probably hire call centers or something but thats what I mean by shitty sales. Why don't you try being your own sales agent. you really have to put in the effort if youre gonna want to monetize these leads. Theres no shortcuts.

I’m not good on calling with customers, also I have team that build websites and do reviews long time but I got customers from other way like ppc advertising and groups organic advertising and friends
But I found this scraper “Leads-Sniper” and it’s very nice way to download all data so you can see any business if have website or not and can call all companies that no have websites.
Or who have bad reviews can call them and give them our service for feedbacks.
This can be huge but i need good partner for cold call!

#1 Get his number
i work with one scraper and i got all phone numbers easy + more alot of info
but i need one good idea how to make from this money and find good company for phone cold call.
this is the tool i used its really powerful tool if i will find the way how to make from this cold leads money

if you have any idea please pm me, i can pay for this info if you can help me and mentor for this info, thanks

Ahh, I used to be a caller for a mortgage company. I was making 200+ calls a day.

Honestly, I feel like cold calling can get leads - the more work you put in.

With the data we had on files, I was told to call homeowners about refinancing.

Use the data and create urgency / "catching up" / and be their friend.

Honestly, I'm terrible at cold calling but I've seen the top cold callers do this with success.

For every 100 F* You's, you will probably get 15 interested with 2~3 solid leads.

Don’t be too formal.

Use a tone that suggests a question when you say your name and company (to make the person think they should know who you are).

And of course the third and final principal; don’t let them off the phone until they buy or fucking die.

Umm.. be aggressive in a friendly way!

My personality is too friendly... and customers would always find a way to direct the conversation into us having to end the call.

The top sales guy would usually have ways to loop around conversations and eventually getting them interested.

People hate cold callers, but the more you build rapport with them - the more they're likely going to trust you.

But you don't want advice from a terrible cold caller like me. :)
