What are these sites with random articles and backlinks ?

After doing some research on competitor sites and checking their backlinks I keep finding sites getting backlinks from these blogs/sites that just seem to have tons of articles about totally random topics which have anchor text links in most articles clearly pointing to specific keywords. I'm seeing these competitors ranking pages almost alone from these backlinks. Basically I want to know how to get backlinks from one of these sites? Like is there a name for sites designed for creating backlinks like this, is it a private network or what?

I'm cool with linking some of these sites here I found, but idk if some would not want me to. So if anyone out there would like to take a look at these sites and maybe help me understand what they are all about then just send me a pm or post and I will give you some example links.

Yeah, i would love to know to, i came across a great one, checked the site in copyscape, and its totally unique, and has very few links in it, and no adverts whatsoever, over 300 pages of content. COPY & PASTE ohhhhhhh yeahhhhhhh!

So you have seen sites like these too? Yeah they usually have no ads or very little and they never really have a name or genre, it's always some just random worded name.

They're just private blog networks. Google goes after them and will de-index or slap your site if you're caught using a network that gets uncovered by them. They probably use a blend of automatic signals and manual review to go after these networks, and in the future they hope to identify them completely by their algo. But they aren't there yet.

Worrying too much in Ranking, checking your competitors rank or just checking once in a while for sites to get backlinks? This is really frustrating if you mean to top the search engine, you get to check the quality and speed so best of it would be sharing you this guidelines which helped me in understanding more about backlinks. I have this book written by an SEO EXPERT this may help your research. Let me know what you think I can give it away at no obligation at all.

If you want links from them - then contact them and ask.

These are typically SEO type sites or part of Blog Networks. - just be careful which ones you choose as some may becme targets for google if they are actively promoting/selling links.

The problem is all these sites have absolutely nothing to them except these articles, no contact info at all.

check the 'whois' info...if that fails then call your cometitor and ask how they got the link (of course do this in a creative way)

There will definitely be someone here on BHW flogging links like this. try looking in the selling stuff forum?

Probably some private or public blog network. But by the sound of it I guess it's some public networks.
