I am looking into products like 'Article Demon.' Can anyone tell me about their experiences using products like this? Specifically, what is the risk? I have a hard time believing these products are capable of creating content that won't be viewed as duplicate. Thoughts? Experiences?

Not sure what you consider a "risk". Bad grammar is the biggest risk.

Try spinner chief first. It's free. I've used TBS but SC is almost as good and free.

When you care about the quality of the article, spin it manually with the software and it's thesaurus. If you don't care (linkwheel post only) do an auto-spin and post it up. I tend to do manual spins and post them to about 20 article directories then redo them with more internal links for one of my linkwheels (with a random spun link).

usually you just have to watch for how natural the article sounds after being spun. sometimes it spins it correctly but it sounds like shit when read.

If you spin each sentance three times and then do synonym replacement you get near 100% unique articles. I don't bother spinning as all I'm interested in is getting the article indexed I don't care if it goes into the supplemental index I still get a link.

So there is no risk apart from it may not show up in SERPS.

I use spinnerchief, but most of the time only use it to generate articles using their autospin. I don't really care about the quality, never check them, just for link purpose.
But if you use manual spinning it can create excellent article.
There're great videos on their forum to help you out.

I second that - SpinnerChief is the best value for money (or should I say for zero money). I use it with AMR and I manually select the spinned equivalents from the thesaurus.

Spinning is a solution, not a problem. It's a solution so you don't have duplicate content. Of course if you just hit the auto replace favorites button you will have a hard time, you know google can detect only synonyms replaces pointing to THE SAME DOMAIN, damn if some software engineer with 1-4 years experience can do it, google has already done it.

Wait... can you explain something for me? I am only interested in getting links back to my site from various article directories. That being the case, are you telling me that it is not important for me to spin them?

I don't do much auto-spinning. Mostly manual with spinner chief. I post the articles in directories linked straight back to my main site. Then I add some more keyword links in the article that point to the main site and post it on to one of my web 2.0 linkwheels (usually 8-10 sites).

Depends where the original article comes from. If it is already published somewhere else on the net then you will need to spin them in order to get them accepted.

Sometimes spinning it good, but it isn't always absolutely necessary. It just depends on the source of your content and what your using it for.

To answer your original question - the biggest risk to using spinners is that the spun content can become unreadable garbage if you aren't careful. LOL

@timtation
I don't use the spun contents (I was talking about on my post above) for article directories, I use it just to populate my profile links with relevant contents (contents, not article), and it's enough.
If i want to use the articles for directory purpose, I will do it manually, using multi nested spinning. If I want to use it on web2.0, another way of spinning maybe will be implemented, if necessary.

@anyone
It's all come down to the "what do you want it for?" Garbage content is useless, for what? Simply, don't assume people use anythings/methods/tools in the same way you use it. The way other people use it, is maybe not necessary for your purpose.

Just like what GreyWolf said:
it isn't always absolutely necessary. It just depends on the source of your content and what your using it for.
