What are the pros and cons of implementing an invisible google captcha? Does it really help me avoid brute force attacks?

I am trying to implement google recaptcha on my website, as due to an audit observation my forms do not block brute force attempts, currently an attempt was made to configure a rule in WAF to prevent this, however we did not fully cover this vulnerability. ...I would like to know what are the pros and cons of implementing google recaptcha? How safe is this alternative? What other recommendations could you take into account?
