best content,onpage SEO and some good backlinks to get authority,social sharing ,these are key features to get ranked
1- Link building : Find high domain ranking websites that offer follow links for contributors and blog/submit articles to them. You are usually allowed to include 1 link in the author bio and 1 link in the body of the article. The highest ranking websites that meet this criteria are Inc BusinessInsider Entrepreneur Mashable Lifehacker Lifehack etc
2- Before your domain acquires high DA, re-search low competition keywords and create content inside your website that includes these keywords

google trend keywords with informative or quality content with social share

can't tell you, i charge an arm and a leg for the method and implementation to my clients. all i can say is Amazon is doing it, but different than i'm doing it. Worked out great for them.
thing is you'd never think of it as a SEO method, and even if you would without proper implementation you'd fail at it.

Create awesome content and do links. All variation exists in these two things.
There is a lot of white hat SEO method working in the present but as per my knowledge effectiveness depend upon the efforts that you give. Rather this, Content is king. Relevant subject material will always be effective, you do all the other techniques to get visitors funneled to your content, which should keep them on the site not the other way around.
