What are the implications of copying a website design?

    I really like the look and feel of GetMenus.ca. Am I allowed to "borrow" their background image, and then create a site based on the same colour scheme and general layout of theirs? Obviously the sidebar content won't be the same, as well as some major content and link changes, but it will strike a resemblance. Any problems with this?

    I don't know but I rip something from a site almost daily as a religion.. Pirating is life.

    Technically there's a big problem with it, especially if they catch you doing it. The background looks simple enough, and shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes to create a similar effect on Photoshop.
