I got offered to have my content syndicated with a pretty big site and was wondering if it was worth it to do so or will they gain all of the positive benefits from my articles since they are bigger and get more traffic and leave me with a duplicate content penalty on my site. Thanks!

If it is related, gives you a link back and will drive visitors to your site then jump all over it.

In this situation I wouldn't worry about a dup penalty - think of how many large websites that dominate the SERPs...doesn't impact them at all.

Any chance that you can expand your reach do it.

If its a pretty big site as you say then you should go for it. You are certainly going to gain a lot more visitors that are not dependent on G rankings.

Also, if the content is indexed on your site first, you should not worry too much about duplication.

Read these OP, then make a decision but I know what I would do.

That HP article is good. Here is the important piece from there...straight from Google's mouth:

"Duplicate content on a site is not grounds for action on that site unless it appears that the intent of the duplicate content is to be deceptive and manipulate search engine results."

Sweet, thanks for the help, and yes they do provide a link back.

In this situation, you would almost certainly get a link that would go back to your site, which would actually help your SEO. Also, if it is an authority blog, any post you do should drive substantial traffic to your site. This is a win-win. Go for it.
