I heard of some nice tricks that can be used. For example, you ask a question on Quora then you answer your own question with other account. Which gets indexed by google and you get backlink and your site's name on Google

Are there any other good tricks similar that can be used?

I mean if you think about it - if the links are easy to get then ur competitor will get them too and they're not doing much for ur site
Nowadays u gotta invest in strong backlinks or its a waste of time in my exp

100% agree with this. The more effort you need to go through in order to get a link, usually means the more it does for your site so. So i would steer clear of this method. No follow/ general links are decent for diversification but its important to properly learn research and outreach if you want decent links.

Have you tried this technique?
By trying this you can get a backlink, will that be much strong?
 
You can do this in a legit way. Just answer 4-5 questions and then post your link in the next one by explaining a little bit. I have done this for several weeks and Quora never removes my links.
 
Always spy on your weakest competitors! Because when they target any keywords or acquire any backlinks, those are easily gettable for you.

Yes. I totally agree. However, if the content is good enough, it can be a way to promote your website and attract some traffic.
 
You can do the same thing on other platforms like Yahoo, Reddit etc..

You can also spy on your competitors and see what they are doing and go deeper by checking links that link to the links of your competitors.

A lot of things are out there if you are creative enough.
