What are some important things for blogs?

Hey everyone,
for building new blogs these days, how important is to have terms and privacy policy pages? Also, what would you say would be the most important things to watch out for when building a good blog?
I understand that quality of content is a very important thing, do you know any guides that more precisely go through what makes a blog post better or worse?

they give your site relevancy (google, being the idiots they are, they only want to see "business" type of websites in their retarded SERPs, even if we are talking about old fashioned, personal blogs, google still wants to see legal pages in order to consider your site as being legit, typical retarded corporate mentality, what can you do?)

So yeah, it's good to have those pages, but there are many online generators for legal pages, just google them and use those to generate the pages for your site (just don't forget to replace the placeholders with your actual site / company's information before publishing them. I've always used Privacy Policy online generators and never had issues ranking my sites with these fake-ass templates)

hmm, that's a tough (because it's broad) question...

Probably you want to pay attention to using a good domain name. If you buy an expired domain (that was used for a different niche to what you intend to use it for) and now you're changing its niche you're already starting with a (possibly non-recoverable) handicap because I've heard (can't confirm, though) that google - in their lunacy - have started blacklisting domains they don't like. And they never like what they can't control, so probably that many 100s of millions of domains are already on their idiotic blacklist, and if the domain you're going to use for your blog is on their blacklist you'll probably never rank no matter what you do...

If you don't know how to check expired domains properly, either buy 1 from @Nargil (who is guaranteed to be clean), or simply use a fresh domain. But when I say fresh I do mean that you have to make sure it's fresh and never used, otherwise it's probably already blacklisted by google if it's so easily available for newbies to snatch.

Probably that's one of the most important things I can think of to watch out for, but like I said, your question is too broad and can encompass a lot of stuff, so you need to be more specific with what your concerns are in order to be able to give better replies.

They are important only to get adsense approval or on some other networks. If you are making money on the blog in some other way, there is no need to be worried about these pages.

Yeah, seems like I would need to generate terms and privacy policy pages, because of googles infinite wisdom.

Didnt know that google would blacklist a domain simply because its changing niche, I have a website that basically doesnt seem to rank on anything, and shows up with just a few impressions daily on searches, and its 12 years old, bought it fresh.

Yeah, have played around with expired domains also, mostly checked web archive and their backlinks quality, is there anything I should be watching out?
Will check also the domains with Nargil, seems like a good deal.

A list that I had compiled kinda in my head was:
- Good content
- Backlinks
- Fast website(under 2s load)
- Posting content to social networks(not sure how important is it, but seen on some places that social signals can help)
- Good internal linking(question here remains what would be overdoing it with internal links, was thinking a good amount is about 5 per 2000 char article?)
- Good keywords

Basically, wanted to see what should I more watch out for, I know I asked kinda a broad question but wanted to see if I am missing something really obvious

this was one of the recent (few months old) updates of this year actually... there were some discussions about it on the forum (this is where I learned about this idiocy)...

probably spammed to death before and now it's being blacklisted and will never rank no matter what you do. Gotta love google forcing people to behave in whichever way suits them, this mafia company would control and manipulate the entire internet if they could...

Posting content to social networks definitely helps to build up your traffic. And if you're going for a visual niche like food recipes, luxury stuff (cars, resorts, yachts), fashion, travel, etc.. sites like Pinterest are amazing in driving 100s of thousands of visitors a week in no time. That site is so much into these niches, even I got to 10k visitors a month at some point and I barely knew what I was doing lol... But the problem is that you'll probably get burnt out on Pinterest as - like all of these big companies (and I believe that Pinterest is owned by google anyway, but I'm not sure on this one but it's possible) - they're going to force you to slave your life away for their profits, big companies always do this, they only care about the pockets of a select few board members, everyone else just a modern day slave...

But yeah, at least you'll get traffic, so there's that at least! But converting that traffic into sales... now that's the tricky part (well, it was for me)

Anyway, social media is good for grabbing hoards of traffic before your SEO efforts kick in, so if you have lots of time or can automate it definitely use it! (Instagram and TikTok are the craziness lately, you should try to find guides on how to get the most out of these 2 platforms if you get into social media)

yeah, internal linking is important...

To be honest, I don't know what a good number of internal links is as I've not owned a site for nearly 3 years now. But 5 links per 1000 words sounds good, per 2000 words is even better, I think you can go with that...

Something else that I've not seen you mention and which I've heard to be a thing lately is that google indexes sites that are mobile friendly first. If that's true, make sure you have a version for mobile devices if you want priority in indexation and hopefully rankings too... Well, to be fair, being mobile-friendly pays off anyway since lots of people are glued to their smartphone screens every day, so it's not like you'd have to make a compromise or anything, you want to be on their phone screens too

Other than these I can't think of anything else, maybe someone else can chime in.... If not, I think you're set with the right knowledge. From hereon out it's just a matter of building the site, creating the content, optimizing it, and publishing it, then building links (slowly and gradually, don't rush it and tank your site), and keeping track of rankings / keywords / pages and adjusting / improving as necessary...

I have been the owner of it for 12 years, but yeah, has had its fair share of uses over the time

Yeah, have been testing out blogtopin for doing pinterest posts, and it seems that it does a good job of it, but mostly got impressions for now, because sites niche is more for freelancing/remote work, which isnt really a good topic for pinterest, but I am using it as kind of a test site to see what can be done
Trying basically to automate as much as possible from those things, have made small scripts for fb, reddit, and most probably will create something for pinterest too, to see if I can find a good setup for it all

Yeah, was thinking of not making like a link farm out of everything.
Yeah, forgot to mention it as a specific thing, but yeah, things like responsive, and mobile optimizations are a must
This was mostly me trying to see if I am just missing something obvious, and not thinking at it correctly.
