I have a full time job, as well as study in university. I would like to make an extra 1000 or so a month on the side. Any ideas that I could try? that don't require a lot of time investment.

If i was willing to put a lot of work, what could i do? I know 1k passively is hard that is my goal but at the start any amount is ok.
if you want to earn 1k passively you need to make 5k actively and then pay someone one 4k to do it for you. if youre a programmer you write code to do it for you. another thing you can do is to simply build an auidence with any social media site, and then get paid to advertise other accounts.

I earn 3k from my job as a software engineer, i don't think i can hire someone to do it for me lol, I might try social media, but i hate using it because it messes up my mind

No its not against rules you can talk as far as op is okay with it,
TBH i was enjoying, you guys should continue HAHA
if youre a software engineer you should be smart enough to make apps or games for the appstore. you can also automate social media posting. you just have to apply yourself

the thing is i barely have time to work on my own projects, let alone working and studying at the same time
then passive income isnt something you should be looking for

Blogging is also passive after certain point of time. But this method requires a lot of patience now.

Build a SaaS, scale it up and then hire people to run it for you.
Buy high dividend paying stocks.
Buy real estate and rent it out.
Buy gold, it grows 10-12% year on year.

And it remains the safest form of investment. It will increase further because a bunch of countries are planning to introduce a new trading currency that will be pegged to gold.
yes but how is that relevant to a guy who wants 1000$ passive now and not in 15 years?
