I’m looking for an MMO opportunity after my 9-5 job (programming). I’ve been working as a C# developer for a company during business hours for many years. Outside of those hours, I want to do something in the evenings to earn extra income, aiming for around $1,500 per month ($50 per day). I’m looking for something long-term, so I’m fine with spending 1-2 months setting things up.

I have programming experience with WordPress and Shopify, but during business hours, I can’t provide immediate support or work independently in any way if a client has urgent needs.

I have an idea of creating a beautiful website and integrating affiliate marketing into it, positioning it as a product and listing it as available on Amazon or in articles (although I’m not sure if these approaches are still effective).

I can also create videos or anything else (Google Ads, coding tools) if someone guides me—I learn very fast.
I’m looking for a specific direction or a mentor.
Thank you!

What direction to take? You can pursue your passion, or simply try out different stuff and see what sticks.
For eg, once upon a time, I wrote an affiliate article and posted it to Ezine Articles (a dinosaur-era article submission site) and suddenly made a few grands off that one article alone.
Got me hooked on copywriting, and fast forward today I'm partnered with various industry leaders around the world.
With the strong coding/software background that you have, and determination to boot, sky's the limit.

You have a solid technical background, which gives you a major advantage in MMO opportunities. Since you’re open to affiliate marketing, coding tools, and content creation, here are a few long-term, scalable options:

1.

  • What to Do: Pick a niche (e.g., software tools, AI automation, or programming resources). Build a high-quality site with SEO-driven content and monetize through affiliate programs like Amazon Associates, Impact, or high-ticket SaaS referrals.
  • Why It Works: Long-term passive income if done right. With your coding skills, you can enhance the site with interactive tools (e.g., a free API checker, calculator, or plugin).
  • Timeframe: 1-2 months to set up, 3-6 months to see results.
  • Scalability: High.

2.

  • What to Do: Identify a pain point in marketing, SEO, or e-commerce (e.g., Shopify automation, content generation, data scraping). Build a simple MVP and market it via Gumroad, AppSumo, or a subscription model.
  • Why It Works: Your coding experience gives you a competitive edge.
  • Timeframe: 2 months to launch an MVP.
  • Scalability: Very high.

3.

  • What to Do: Create niche-focused YouTube videos (e.g., tech tutorials, coding tricks, software reviews) using AI-generated voices and stock footage. Monetize through YouTube ads and affiliate links.
  • Why It Works: Leverages your ability to learn fast and doesn’t require your constant presence.
  • Timeframe: 1-2 months to see growth.
  • Scalability: High.

4.

  • What to Do: Drive Google Ads traffic to high-converting affiliate offers using landing pages you build.
  • Why It Works: Quick cash flow, especially if you refine your ad strategies.
  • Timeframe: Immediate results (requires ad budget).
  • Scalability: Medium to high.

Finding a Mentor

  • Reddit (r/JustStart, r/Entrepreneur)
  • Twitter/X (Follow SaaS founders & affiliate marketers)
  • Paid communities (Superpath for content marketing, Indie Hackers for SaaS)

You can try your own youtube channel and share what you know in those videos. There are people who are always willing to learn coding skills.

Use your experience, skills and knowledge about coding. There are several options, including offering your services as a freelancer, create a youtube channel to teach coding tutorials, create your own bots and SAAS, upgrade your account on BHW to offer your services, etc.

Great skills. I really hope you find the right person to help develop those skills into a great business.

People are automating in 2025
Since you are good at coding, you can implement your knowledge to develop AI tools, AI agents and bots
