After doing some keyword research I found one phrase that fits what i do very well and there is not a very strong cometition (well< at least it seems so to me now...i'm still a noob in all this)

google results for ".........." phrase are 115,000 results, and inurl:"..." intitle:"..." for the same keyphrase is showing up as 10,200 results.

I read on BHW that good keyword phrase is considered if there're around 30k-50k results.

Basically my question is: is it worth going for that keyphrase or shall i try to find another one?

It couldn't hurt to try

Well, if you spend a ton of money trying and fail, that's the only way it could hurt lol.

Is it something that has products, services, or ads linked to it (Check amazon, ebay, and google adsense)? If not, that means there probably isn't a market for it. If there are those things already in place...

Jump on it and make some money...

yeah it's a service and google does have ads when the keyphrase is used

i found 3 keyphrases i reckon i can go with now. What would be the next step? Pay someone for backlinks?

Take a look at your competition first and consider the other factors before you decide. If competition isn't too high I'll say go ahead.

you can go for it, but surely its better to go for long term and go for a major niche, get the site ranked, backlink properly, give meaningful content to the readers then bank after 6 months hard work you can flip the site for a load of cash or sit back and enjoy the cash.

(my opinion but smaller niches like yours give small amounts back)

the thing is that I dont really want a massive amount of traffic. This site is for the service I provide, it takes time to give the client a finished product, so even a couple of hundred visitors a day will do, if at least one places the order then i'm good

google keyword tool says 1900 exact searches

traffic travis show daily: 403 google, 79 yahoo, 56 bing

Massive amounts of traffic is never a bad thing. Worst-case scenario you get to charge more, since demand goes up but supply is constant.

Go for new ones, there isn't any bad in it. Check it in Google adsense, you'll get to figure out the market.

Numbers look fine, I have no trouble going for much higher numbers. There is another issue - the actual competition sites - age, rank, links and so forth. If those aren't too high it's safe to go.

And about too many visitors, I would not worry Better off, outsource some of your services to get more clients if you'll find yourself crowded with orders

here's a screen from Market Samurai. the top line is my domain. The direct competitor's domain is old but their on page SEO is rather crap, and the amount of indexed pages is high because they're using flash deeplinking for image galleires so every slide is counted as a separate page

This is problem related to keyword research. During researching key, everyone should be more careful. Now there are various tools of researching keywords. You can use Google adwords tool. It is more effective.
