What are different types of proxies ?

There are three basic types of proxies.
1. Data Center Proxies
2. Residential Proxies
3. Mobile Proxies

Data center proxies use the IP address provided by data centers used for cloud hosting services. Residential proxies use the IP address provided by residential connections and mobile proxies use the IP address provided by mobile ISPs for cellular data.

Hello
What are different types of proxies
Whats the difference btw them ?
Hope this help
  • Dedicated proxies are created from a VPS and have their own net block, making them easy to set up and sell. However, they can be shared by multiple users and may be used for malicious purposes, leading to blacklisting.
  • Residential proxies are created from home networks and offer good quality, but may be limited in terms of IP changes and availability. They are best for personal use rather than long-term business use.
  • Mobile proxies are created from 3G/4G networks and offer dynamic IP addresses with high trust levels. They are highly mobile and provide a large number of IP addresses, making them ideal for automation tools. They also have a lower risk of being blacklisted compared to other types of proxies. Mobile proxies offer several benefits over other types of proxies, including mobility, trustworthiness, and a large number of IP addresses. They are ideal for automation and other online activities that require frequent IP changes.
Overall, mobile proxies offer unique advantages that make them a strong choice for many users. However, the specific type of proxy that is best for a given user will depend on their specific needs and use case.

Hello
What are different types of proxies
Whats the difference btw them ?

Broadly there are following types of proxies:
  • Data center Proxies: These are proxies provided by data centers. They are often used for various online activities and might not offer high levels of anonymity.

  • Residential Proxies: These use IP addresses assigned to homes by ISPs. They offer better anonymity but can be more expensive.

  • Mobile Proxies: These use IP addresses which routes your internet traffic through a mobile network using a 4G connection. It uses the mobile network's IP addresses and allows you to appear as if you're browsing from a mobile device with a 4G or 5G connection. It offers high levels of anonymity and trust factor.

Hello
What are different types of proxies
Whats the difference btw them ?
There are several types of proxy servers:

  • FTP proxies are used to upload data to an FTP server
  • CGI proxies (anonymizers) help to open any website directly in the browser. No additional settings are required. Most often, such proxies are made in the form of a website, where you can enter the address of the site you want to visit.
  • SMTP, POP3 and IMAP proxies are used to send and receive email
  • HTTP and HTTPS proxies are designed for web browsing
  • Socks proxy transmits all data to the final server as a client, therefore it is considered the most anonymous protocol

Here's a breakdown of the differences:

  1. Datacenter Proxies:
    • Source: Datacenter proxies are created using servers hosted in data centers. They are not associated with any ISP or real-world location.
    • Speed and Performance: Datacenter proxies generally offer high speed and performance, making them suitable for tasks that require quick and numerous requests.
    • Anonymity: While datacenter proxies provide some level of anonymity, they are more likely to be detected and blocked by websites, as they are commonly used by bots and malicious actors.
    • Geolocation: Datacenter proxies usually have a limited ability to simulate different geolocations but are less accurate than mobile and residential proxies.
  2. Mobile Proxies:
    • Source: Mobile proxies use IP addresses from mobile devices and cellular networks. They are more closely associated with real mobile devices and their geolocations.
    • Anonymity: Mobile proxies offer a higher level of anonymity compared to datacenter proxies due to their association with mobile devices and cellular networks.
    • Legitimacy: Websites and platforms are more likely to trust requests coming from mobile proxies, as they appear to be from legitimate users.
    • Geolocation: Mobile proxies provide accurate geolocation information, making them suitable for location-specific tasks and targeted marketing.
  3. Residential Proxies:
    • Source: Residential proxies use IP addresses from real residential connections provided by Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
    • Anonymity: Residential proxies provide a high level of anonymity because they use real IP addresses associated with individuals' homes.
    • Trustworthiness: Similar to mobile proxies, residential proxies are more trusted by websites and are less likely to be flagged as suspicious.
    • Geolocation: Residential proxies accurately reflect the geolocation of the IP address, which is valuable for tasks requiring precise location data.

Static IPAn IP address is called static (constant, unchangeable) if it is assigned by the user in the device settings, or is assigned automatically when the device connects to the network and cannot be assigned to another device.
Dynamic IPAn IP address is called dynamic (non-permanent, changeable) if it is assigned automatically when a device connects to the network and is used for a limited period of time specified in the service that assigned the IP address (DHCP).
If you need to change your IP address, you can try an anti-detection browser like MoreLogin, Linken Sphere and Multilogin.

Great explanation, thanks for sharing :)

Don't forget UDP proxies and MTProto proxies (for Telegram).
