I've read a lot about SEO but this is my first real attempt at it so please forgive my noobiness.

I have a year old adsense site. It has about 20 unique and keyword targeted pages of content.

I did a lot of on-page SEO using everything I had learned but it's never got more than 30 visitors per day. I've managed to rank a page #113 for its keyword on google, but that's about one click a month.

I'm thinking next is backlink building time. I have $20 (I really can't spare any more), and a few hours of free time every day to do some myself. I was thinking about buying 4 fiverr gigs.

I'm looking at the top rated fiverr backlink gigs, but I'm not sure which ones are good and which are going to burn this site to the ground to be honest.

Would anyone recommend some good gigs? I know I need some web 2.0's and pyramid off of them, and a few .edu/.gov's, and some social signals too...but honestly that is all I know. :\

Like I said I have free time to manually build some links too, but no clue how except blog comments.

Save the Fiverr gigs for links to the links you manually build. Don't send them to your site directly or you're page ranking for #113 will be closer to #500,302,739 in a few months

You should start with building manually links if you don't have a budget to buy a service.

What exactly made you decide on this niche? You're getting $2.00/click on AdSense? I find it hard to believe there's any niche with $2.00 clicks and reasonable search volume that you could just like spam your way to the top of.

Basically position #113 means absolutely nothing. Anything past the first page is statistically going to be worth 0 traffic and even at #5 you're only going to get 5% of the traffic. Going from, say, #11 to #5 or #5 to #3 or #3 to #1 requires a lot more than from, say, #113 to #11 as well. So if you can get to #11 you can consider yourself maybe 1/8 of the way to seeing some money.

Not trying to be discouraging, just saying there's more to it than this. If you look at the top 10 and check out their link profiles you'll be able to tell if they relied on blackhatish links or if they have legit authority. If they're not blackhat you're not going to blackhat your way past them. I mean it's always possible in theory, but when you're investing your time and money you should know that it's a very very very very very very long shot.

Since you took the time to create real content I assume you don't want to abandon it, so you can do real WH link building, but like real editorial links from other sites, references in online discussions (forums, comments on relevant sites that add something valuable, reply to tweets, etc). Even if the SE traffic is a bust, any traffic that you can get to an article that could be a $2.00 click is worth getting.

manual backlink is the best, you can save your money and no risk penalty etc
fiverr gig for tier 1 not recommended

I did some heavy keyword research when I made it. It took me about two weeks to pull out the 4 main long tail keywords. I used G KW tool plus a tool called all-in keyword scraper that really showed me the winners. They all get about 5k searchers/month with very little competition and I was actually predicting closer to $3 per click though :)

the top 10 sites are all weaklings with 3-5k backlinks.

I guess I'm not sure HOW I should build my backlinks. Are we still doing pyramids around here? I was thinking something like... Money site > web2.0 > blog comments, articles, pdf download sites with social signals right to the money site and web 2.0's.
