What am I doing wrong.

You didn't mention anything but on-page seo in this post.. and you're in probably THE most competitive niche online.

What are you doing off of your site to help you rank?
 
4-5 days ago and you have no traffic?
bro, u missing the point, of course u won't have any traffic, if you don't go out there and search for audience, fb, twitter. whatever

IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE HARD, or else every ass-hole will have a website on top google page.

work hard and u will get there, believe in ur self :)
 
I knew this would be hard but what annoys me is that everyone else starting off seems to be hitting 100 visits a day. I also wasn't aware it was the most competitive, I thought that was weight loss but anyway I can niche down more that's not a problem.
 
When I started my site I was getting 0-10 visitors a day for the whole of my first month. I was adding fresh content, hand written by me. But, all I was doing was SEO and no marketing. Since then, I've reached out to different communities and social networks - reached out to similar blogs and communities around my niche and gotten backlinks and respect in them. This is my second month on my site, and I am hitting 400-1400 unique visitors a day.

It's all about the work you put in mate.
 
Man OP you need to read and learn more before you try anything.

Too many severe noobs want to jump in right away, but some people need failure to learn.
 
I used to do IM for Adult Friend Finder looooong time ago back in the aol 2.5 days competition was scares back then now looks like its a lot harder. I been doing research for about a week now (4-5 hours a day researching) and ready to start. Sorry I rambled about the ice age. The only tip I could give is spend some time on other blogs giving some useful info. People will start respecting your opinions and visit your site
 
It surely takes time. Think it as a real world business. What would you do to get customers?
 
Don't worry, I don't quit. Its just I am not used to investing money so I get a little unnerved when I don't see any sort of results lol. I'm just going to grind it out, get a some social bookmarking, backlinks etc sorted. Failure isn't an option. I may open a very niched down weight loss domain as well and get two possible streams of income going. Thanks for the replies and forgive my pure noobish stupidty.
 
what were you thinking going to such competitive niche.
 
After 4 Days you expect getting thousands of hits in IM niche ? when only what you have done is activating SEO plugins
 
If you've only spent 4 days doing a little bit of SEO, don't expect any visitors from organic sources. Do more SEO, make more backlinks and get them indexed with an indexing service. Sorry, but you won't go far with a small, limited budget. I suggest GSA, Scrapebox, and I use Fiverr to index my sites and videos. Good Luck.
