What am I doing wrong?

Hey BHW,

I have a site I'm promoting - let's call it veggies.com. This site has multiple subpages - veggies.com/carrots, for example.

I started out doing on-page optimizations and got the subpage veggies.com/carrots from position 50 to 12 for search "carrots". Then I started building backlinks, perhaps with a relatively high nofollow to follow ratio, all points to the /carrots subpage.

My site started plummeting in rankings, hitting 30, and it won't budge from there.

Overall, the backlinks - while trashy - don't seem so bad and my site was spammed with hundreds of trash links in the past so I doubt that this new collection of relatively few backlinks are my issue.

I also need to mention that other pages on the site - veggies.com/pumpkins - didn't take a similar hit.

- I made sure the site is properly indexed
- I enriched the content

What else should I do/check? What could have caused this issue?

What kind of links did you build and what kind of anchor text did you use (exact, partial, brand, url?)?

kindly check your backlinks whether its harm or not, then will add the related quality backlinks

Nothing to find wrong, Better to research ur Kwd statics which u hav used.

Check with your backlinks..

If the rank is dropped after link building, check with your backlinks, site speed and its anchor text. Always prefer quality and relevant links it enhances the ranking.

If you just built links, give it sometime. Google drops rank sometimes and re-evaluates.

you must learn before you earn, otherwise you are wasting your time, Direction is much more important than speed in life.

Its most probably because of spam backlinks.Try to remove them or disown them by reporting google webmaster every spam backlink. Wait for a week and keep a record of your rank.Hopefully It will improve your rank and try to make 1 relevant backlink instead of 100 irrelevant backlinks.Also use diversified keywords in your anchor text.
