What am i doing wrong with Pinterest?

Here is my history with Pinterest...

Early 2013 - I joined and created many boards with awesome content. I also followed many people and got lots of follows back. Anytime I would pin a new photo, I would usually see 'repins' instantly, and in turn, traffic to my site. I even had times where I would post a photo, and within seconds have 100's of visitors on my site....

Fastforward to 2014.

I rejoined Pinterest with a new site and follow the same method. However, my awesome content is never "liked" or "re-pined", and I rarely see traffic from this...

What has changed with Pinterest in the past year, and what can I do differently to get more click throughs to my site?

You lost your audience when you stopped pinning.You have to keep up with them.I am getting around 300 UVs a day on my site from Pinterest.Also try Tumblr Its Incredibly Powerful.
 
Thanks! I've tried Tumblr and got lots of followers, but no traffic...
 
The algo for user homefeed has been changed. Users do not see pins in sequence by just the people they are following. They now also see Related Pins, which may or may not be from pinners they follow. These Related Pins are also dominating the first couple of pages as seen from the homefeeds of my various accounts. Check yours and let us know what you see. I'm also seeing pins from groupboards, but those are not in sequence either. The algo seems to be displaying old pins that are popular or newer pins that are picking up steam.

Err... you can't just pin animal stuff in fashion accounts right?
 
Why not? Just make animal-oriented board and pin to it. It can only help - your account will look more human, and your reach/pin visibility can improve slightly if you have semi-viral and viral pins all the time.

Hi i am new to pinterest can you give me some tips for how to use pinterest and also tumblr. In my website need more traffic and sales.
 
I agree, Kittens are the way to go. Nothing beats kittens. Except maybe the fennec fox...
 
Never stop pinning. Always keep your account active and repin things that are related to keep your followers interested. If you lay back and don't bother for a while then soon you will see a drop in your followers. Always best to keep on top of things.
 
it will take a while to regain the engagement, i'd suggest you stick to it. It also depends on the niche, maybe what you're into at this time is a lot more saturated than it was a year ago so your accounts will need to be bigger to make a difference
 
Anyone use a pinterest client or bot to help with capitalizing on traffic and feedback?
 
I agree w/ rovad, kittens n puppies. Funny quotes too. I built mine with a program from here no longer developed but it was crucial to me not having to pin all that crap. Just upload and go.
Now I have massplanner quietly re-pinning, following and whatever else it does on auto.
It's great I just go in there about once a week and answer messages from pervs and move on.
Auto post my stuff from IFTTT
