What am I doing wrong in my sniping strategy?

I thank you for taking a glance at my problem and I look forward to your analysis.

Here's what my system looks like for sniping a keyword (long-chain mostly) into the #1 spot on Google. This system was constructed using visual linkwheels I saw around BHW, and I'm wondering why it is not working:

1. Find niche using KE 2.0 - niche was found with a low competition score of 28, KE 2.0 said there were approx. 3500 searches a month for this term and looking at the Search Engine Dominator function, the top site sites on the first SERP were less then PR3 with an average of 8 backlinks each, I figured this was a good niche for a top spot snipe!

2. Confirmed using Market Samurai that the niche had traffic, strangely the track reported by Market Samurai was 49,000 searches a month, a lot higher then KE 2.0's estimate. Strange. Anyway, Market Samurai reported a very low SEOC of 1% meaning there were very few websites competing for this keyword, another positive to proceed on.

3. I created a blogger page with a 500 word article I spun around the niche keywords I picked. Page is seo'd and optimized for my keywords.

4. I created an article on GoArticles with 3 links using my keywords pointing to the blogger page.

5. I created 5 web 2.0 properties which 1-way link to my blogger page and each include 500 word unique articles optimized around my keyword niche.

6. Using OnlyWire I bookmarked each of the 5 web 2.0 properties, and the GoArticles.com article in 18 of the most popular social bookmarking sites.

So after completing all of the above I searched google for my keywords and I found that 1 of my web 2.0 sites made it to the first SERP, however, the blogger page (my main page) and the other web 2.0 properties, as well as the GoArticles.com article, are no where to be found!

It's been about 3 hours, can someone please comment on what may be going on or if I simply am off track and should rethink my methods?

Two things:

1. I've noticed that Blogger pages tend to rank horribly at first. And horribly later if you don't build backlinks to them. But this is just my experience, also.

2. Linkwheels take a little bit of itme to work. Report bqck in after about 24 hours and see if any more of the properties have ranked.

Ok, the general strategy is effective tho?

Nine times out of ten it is, especially if you're going short term for ranking. If you're going long term, start building up backlinks like a madman.

Cool, I'm using web 2.0 properties including, scribd.com,vox.com,weebly.com,clipmarks.com,tumblr.com, are these good web 2.0 properties? Or are there 5 more optimal ones?

You will have to build more backlinks - I usually start with tons of High PR backlinks that are not related to my niche, then build many backlinks related to your niche regardless of PR. I have seen great results using this method. It looks good to Google also - because you will have links from a wide variety of sources.

Do you use any tools to build these backlinks, or are they all done manually?

I need to figure out a good backlink routine.

Do you use any type of tool to get these backlinks?

Or do you add them manually?

I need to figure out a good routine for getting backlinks in place.

Give it time and start posting articles at ezine as well. You'll get a lot more traffic than GoArticle. Ping, and link to directories.
Then do it again...

I did essentially the same - Bloger blog took 4 weeks to show on page one - but it DOES show - eventually

Dude 3 hours? It usually takes a couple weeks to rank. Just build some more backlinks, say 5 a day to your money page and each section of your link wheel.

Everybody is wanting fast ass results these days..

Sorry, I am just used to my keywords showing up quick using Digg, they usually hit the first page immediately.

Essentially I assume the holy grail of sniping is an automated bot that can create good unique content, post a linkwheel, and socially bookmark each piece of the wheel. Would this be as good as it gets? Are there any tools which can help me make any piece of this holy grail come true?

I am worried that someone in my CPA network has already found this holy grail. It looks like he has posted (using the same username, heh) 863 unique articles to one web 2.0 site. I followed these links onto another web 2.0 site and found the start of his link wheels. This was SHOCKING, he has at least 800 - 1000 unique articles on each web 2.0 property, of which I found him on about 10! These are not spun articles, I'm talking totally unique stuff relevant to every single CPA off in my network!!

How the hell would this be possible? Is it possible to automate this? Is it possible the holy grail exists?

You could easily semi-automate this.

Outsource it at $3-$5 per property, including written content, and you could very well be on to something.
