I'm thinking about the green screen channel I have in mind

And I think it could work

Look for the most viewed videos of the niche and create a public playlist

Then intercalate some of your videos

When somebody is watching the one million video, Youtube maybe is going to suggest the playlist in the right column

It's totally white hat: You can create a lot of playlists, and Youtube is not going to penalize you

What do you think?

No it isn’t stupidity and it does work. From what I’ve been seeing is that it’s a method used by Vietnamese channels especially in the kids niche to help grow channels
 
I found thousand playlists like that in youtube. Especially in porn niche.

So, I can say it works.
 
The problem to figure out now is to find someone who an increase playlist views to make it popular in searches
 
Remember to write a good description for your playlist.

yea, the playlist. but i think offical will delete some useless list
 
Very interesting idea... i'm not very knowledgeable on how playlists work... there is a ranking algorithm for them? There is a search bar for playlists?

Ah you said maybe youtube would recommend the video on the right side... does that happen or just conjecture from your part?
 
Interesting idea, but I've seen Youtube delete playlists for spam - so I would do this in scale.

It's also pretty rare that I see a playlist turn up in Youtube search, except for music videos for generic or broad match search queries for a band.

For example, if you look up "Gnarls Barkley" - it brings up all the songs he did and a few playlists that have all his songs concatenated together.
