Hi,
I think Google have a new criteria for authorizing backlinks.
while building backlinks for one of my sites, I edit a topic for me since 2009 on a social media site and remove the old text link from it and replace with my recent money site, I discovered amazing results.
From page 2 to #3 spot in less than 3 days!!
Just from one backlink!! However i tried tens of bbacklinks before and still in the 2nd page.
anyone tested this?

Currently in my testing Google is taking around 15 days to give effect for any new links and it was never as short as 3 days. So IMHO the rank changes is due to stuff other than the change in this link alone.

Yes I create other backlinks in the range of 10-15 days before this action. But with other sites I test backlinks from podcats sites and notice the changes in few days, i didn't remember exactly how many, but I'm sure the effects appears fast not 15 days.

Depends on what was your site , if you site just had one or few items , which wasn't so hard to rank well. But if the site is E commerce site ,then it needs lots of hard work

My site is Ecommerce with woocommerce setup!!
That make me amazed by results!!

Aged backlinks from authority domains do carry a lot of weight. So, your increase in ranking may well be due to that single link you obtained.

OP

Recently I've observed something similar; not as good as your increase but it also happened on an ecommerce site, within 3 days, and with daily improvements since then.

I'm speculating, but in my situation I think it's a combination of the domains age and power.

I noticed when I build links from old domains the links takes effect FAST like 1-2 days and you see improvements but with newer domains the links do not kick in for weeks.

I hope that will work , I think any one has old topics on any social site like hubpages and other sites, that weight too much money behind!
I speak about old time topics not old domains, try to test backlink for new hubpages topic and old hubpages topic and see the difference!

Well if the page does not have any link juice I dont think it will do much for ranking.

The page can be 100 years old with 0 links pointing to it so why would that help you rank? Because its old? I dont think so

May be you are right specially the link I tested my site with already have pagerank 2, and may be has link juice.

The problem with testing SEO these days is Google delaying the results. So your boost may have come from something else entirely. Either way, editing old social media posts is a nice trick, hope this works for others as well.

""editing old social media posts"" Can make negative effect also ?? What you think ?

Dear,
Aged Backlinks do have weightage but not that much as you described here, Kindly explains us more about your case.

I'm not sure 100% that the results are from this one link, as this case the only one I have, and I don't have much old topics to edit as this case.
So If many members tried the method and get results , we can buy links from old topics elsewhere.

I got the same results as OP, 3-4 days to move up the SERPs. Edited one post in a forum (2011) and got boosted a few positions, I'm hoping the rankings will remain and improve.

Yes this can indeed work, but only if the domain where the backlink is coming from itself is very strong
