Can any person tell me what a "host site" is? I've been researching making my own website and I keep seeing host sites. I have no idea what that means.

A website is a directory of html and javascript files, when you put those files a on server it's called "hosting a site", it allows users to access your site

I think you are referring to website hosting. it's where you put the files of your website to be able to be accessed online
