Hi I have a guy who wrote me to buy one of my sites. He would like to send me money via Western Union. I know that it's not safe to send money through that service my question is...is it safe to receive money with it?

yeah why wouldn't it be? WU has been used for decades for sending and receiving funds, it all depends on what the funds are for and were they came from, your issue shouldn't be with WU but with the buyer, if he is legit/the funds are legit.....

I'm using it for sending and receiving money from my family in turkey , Don't worry it's totally safe , just get your money first then give him the website

Definitely, just don't xfer any files over until you have cash in hand.

This might be a stupid question but as I understand it I need to show my id when I receive the money. Does that mean this guy has all my info name, address, drivers license etc.

don't worry when you're receiving, worry when you're sending, and you don't know the guy

All they need is your name, and when they do it they will give you a code. And you then go to WU with your id and the code, and they will give you the money.

Give only info needed i think they need a name and address ONLY. and then when you get cash in hand do the deal.

Don't do it that way use an escrow service instead to insure nobody gets scammed!

You can use this site here to set everything up if you really want to go for it:

Sure receiving money could be safe, but still its better safe than sorry and making a shitlist thread later ;)

Enjoy! :plane:

I am going to have to disagree with the others you can be charged because if the money was sent via some form of fraud on the senders half you are recieving stolen money and that means you are involved in it.
