I've only recently gotten into Western movies, and though I've seen a good number of them already I can't help but wonder what I've missed. Can anyone give me any recs for good Westerns?

Some of the ones I've seen already are: almost all of Sergio Leone's movies, The Magnificent Seven, The Unforgiven, One-Eyed Jacks, and 3:10 to Yuma. Also Cowboys and Aliens, if that counts.

Butch Cassidy and the Sun Dance Kid, The Wild Bunch, I kind of liked The Man who shot Liberty Vallance, Tombstone was also fun to watch. Um ... Outlaw Josey Whales. You can also search for "greatest westerns of all time" and get a pretty good list.

No Country For Old Men... One of the best Westerns ever and quite a brilliant film.

Haspel mentioned "My Names is Trinity". That was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. The sequel "They Call Me Trinity" is not as good but worth a view.

Just stay clear of Paint your Wagon. It's a musical and not very good.IMHO.

Check out Western World (1973). It's a Michael Crichton movie which paved the way for the Terminator franchise and other AI/Cyborg themes. Really ahead of it's time.

I think HBO are releasing a mini series, based on this movie, next month. Trailer looks pretty good...
