anyone live near west palm beach?

if so would you recommend living there for a married couple + 2 young kids?

just doing some research

cheers

I used to live in Boca Raton near WPB.

It is a nice area to live even with kids except the school system is the worst in the country. So be careful about the school you choose. I think they grade them like a-f like a paper.

It's a fun place to live though!

Good luck!

There are some real nice areas and some real crap areas. If you need to relocate to the general area look into Jupiter. It is 15 minutes from WPB and is much nicer. As optionMark said they do have the worst school system in the country, friend is a teacher there. Jupiter has by far the best public schools in the area.

I live about 1.5 hours north of wpb. I have kids and found it's better living in one of the smaller towns north of that area. Much lower crime and definitely better schools here. Driving down to wpb isn't bad but traffic tends to get kind of shitty around Jupiter.

I'm about three hours north, and I would venture to agree with everyone here. South Florida is an exciting and fun area for an outgoing BHer, but I don't know if I would recommend it for families.

i've lived in south florida since i was 6. i personally don't recommend raising a family in west palm. every area has it's good/bad spots, but west palm has far more bad than good imo.

some of the best places within a 2hr radius of that area (north to south) are port st lucie, boca, parkland, coral springs, and weston. as far as broward county goes, as a general rule of thumb, try not to live too far east of university drive. west is best ;)
