Hi.
I am new in SEO world and I have a very simple question. However I want to know as much as possible.

The question is the following. If I can somehow rank a website of “MyCompany” in top 1 page or top 3-5 in google search results, then will it affect the GMB (GBP) of the same company?

If yes, please explain why.

ranking website does effect gmb citation if gotten many listed reviews about services delivery to rank GMB than competitors.
rank only website does not effect gmb.

How strong does it affect? Do you have any experience to share? Maybe tell about?
 
Yes, ranking your website organic search will help your Google business profile and you can go to (add service) on your GMB to add relevant keywords

They’re connected to some extent. Organic rankings can help your GMBG because Google sees consistent signals between your website and GMB.

they might rank in a similar fashion, but they will rank differently for sure

I would say it's the #2 factor for your GBP ranking. First being the GBP signals itself (proximity, reviews, engagements etc).

Why?

Website gives the algo additional signals (service pages, location pages, brand authority) which basically helps it serve better results.
 
Google trusts businesses more if their websites rank well, which can help GMB Indirectly.
