werid stuff going on with google PR?

1 of my sites got dropped from pr3 to pr1 a few weeks ago, and today i noticed it's back to pr3..haven't done anything to the site, and traffic is the same

what is google up to now?

Probably an error in your tool that you used to check PR. Google isn't doing that.

last pagerank update >> april 2010, maybe you got an error while checking your pagerank.

Simple way to solve the problem - turn off the PageRank display I've turned it off and never check it at all after all it means nothing. What counts is how you're ranked for your keywords, are your rankings / traffic / earnings going up or down. Sure I use it in SB to pick sites with more authority for backlinking purposes but I couldn't care less about my own sites rankings after all I'm not going to sell them.

Bottom line it's traffic / clickthrough / SERP position and MONEY that count not PR.

yeah i know pr doesn't matter that much

but when i got down to pr1 i did check on a few pr checking sites, and it was pr1 on all of them, and now it's pr3 on all of them..

I don't know the answer to your question, I think the only one would be big G.

One thing though.. The next PR update was expected at the beginning of 2011. Since it didn't happen, many thinks that there will be no more major updates, but it will be a continuous thing. That would make it possible what you've experienced. Still, updates that frequent don't make sense.

My travel agent authority site is #1 on G for my biggest keyword, #1-#5 for about 20 other keywords, has 40,000 links and about 2 million links flowing in via link wheels, earns $1000-$2000 per day................and is PR0

so repeat after me

I will spend more time marketing my site and less time worrying about PR

You really make over 365k off one website per year? Wow. That is incredible.

Sometimes there are humans at Google that check your site and may decrease your PR manually (so called quality raters) and they can give it back after a while (don't know why). They may penalize your site cause they think you are doing something like selling backlinks and stuff.

I don't know what rules they follow, but they do it, I heard.

I don't make that. The business does. It's me, my wife, a personal assistant to my wife and one other part time travel agent.

It's a travel agency with all associated costs and licences.

We book accommodation and tours so it's a bit different to selling ebooks, adsense and affiliate programs. All our staff have to be intensively trained and the travel ageny license costs 8k per year with a 35k one off fee to start up.

Me and my wife pay ouselves 50k a year from it and yes we pay company and personal income tax from it.

My other online activities selling ebooks, adsense and affiliate programs pay me about $10 per day from about 12 other sites - so I ain't no Guru.

I stopped working for other people to market the site for my wife as we had owned it for about five years and got maybe $100 per week from it. Using BH principles on a legitimate business has given it a huge boost, mainly because all my competitors don't.

Do you do all the link work yourself or do you outsource? And if so who do you use/recommend? What kind of structure do you use? Is it multi-tier? How many tiers?

I only outsource Xrumer, and will be doing that myself too soon. I use Xrumergod from this forum - look in services you'll find him.

I use 3 tiers. 2nd tier is article marketing and bookmarking - 3rd tier is scrapebox spam.

I xrumer blast PR1+ and PR3+ straight to my main site, remembering it is 11 years old, I wouldn't advise doing the same to a young site.

I will even link SB comment spam to the main site but only from blogs with under 40 or so comments and some PR.

hi,

i am also using xrumergod services for a few months now (I have bought most of the PR3+, PR1+ and other packages from him). but when i ask him why i cannot see any backlinks from google to my website and very little from yahoo and bing, he says he do not know. may i know how u check that you have 40k backlinks and 2 millions more from wheel?
