My authority PR4 site just dropped 10+ positions in every keyword. Yep SEO is a great industry to be in now. Fuck google.

Went from #1 for 15+ keywords to not in top 100 2 days ago.
Site had good content, EMD, and strong/healthy backlinks (mostly manually made).

One plus to these latest algo changes is that soon nobody will actually need to use google, as i can already guess with around 90% accuracy exactly which URL's google will list for a given query... oh, another page of wiki/ehow/preloved/gumtree/livestrong results? How original.

Have you heard if it is possible for the root url to rank again for its targeted keyword(s) instead of one of the site's deep urls?Anyone?

My traffic has dropped right down and a keyword I held in the #2 spot (after wikipedia) has dropped down to 127. In its place is a shitty fucking whore for adsense site with really crap content.
The thing is, this site was not that big of earner. I kept it going as it was uselful to people. The particular page hit had around 70 comments from people saying thanks for the info.
It was useful content and Google have buried it and give a spam site a helpling hand and a move up in results.

One of my EMDs came back to page one, (from page 1000+ lol) did not do shit. Making 10 dollars a day again.

my site went from nr #1 for 4.4k exact kw to nr #20. It is PR4 with quite strong backlinks. On top page, i see mostly forum posts and YT videos...that su*ks a lot. I dont have a clue how to rank a site now - exactly the same situation as after first penguin. I though anchor text and link diversification is enough...probably not anymore

The entire purpose of penguin is to apply negative link juice, NOT to filter out anchor diversity etc etc.
Additionally, panda + penguin is designed to remove all sites that have only a few pages (by a few, I mean less than several hundred), use a lot of paid links, and those sites whose links disappear over time or change in value. Similarly, authority websites are never touched in this fashion.
Regardless of quality, anchor diversity, or anything else, this is what these filters do... Just look at what sites have survived all of these updates, not many!
The thought process is, damaging enough small sites, will eventually push up the major players to the top (walmart, amazon, ebay, etc). At least this is the result, and they keep doing these refreshes, so I think that's likely the goal.

There is no way to track these updates. My EMD that came back is a 360,000 p/m keyword... All copied content, shitty wordpress blog, no value at all... links to adscendmedia... it got de-ranked a year ago for too much backlinks... it came back to page 7 before penguin... after penguin it got killed off the serps... 3 days ago it came back again, page 1 position 9.... all my competitors were wiped out. I did not update it, no new posts, no backlinks, NOTHING.

This has happened to me once before... just when I though all was lost I tried to sell some of my old sites due to low serp. One site I tried to sell for 75 dollars ... well.... no1 bought it. 3 months later it came back stronger than ever and made me over 1k a month for a good year (until penguin killed it)
Conclusion.... NO MATTER WHAT, DON'T SELL OR ABANDON YOUR STIES. SIT ON THEM EVEN IF IT TAKES A YEAR, YOU NEVER KNOW... THEY MIGHT COME BACK. Don't sell your hard work for a quick 200 bucks. Let it sit, age.... it can only do good to show that a site lasts so long.
