because you don't have backlinks... Imagine what would do a small negative seo campaign to your site.

A EMD of mine has moved up for 6 positions . I haven't built any link to this site. It is around 6 months old. So i guess this new EMD penalty is more caused by links that with the fact it is an EMD. That being said, it is a combination of both but IMO links are a much more important factor.
 
.03% of 1 Trillion sites is 300 Million.

It takes a dedicated minority to make things change.

Is an update really happening? All ranks, mine and my clients', have increased.

Granted, we don't rely on EMD itself much for a boost anymore, but is this really targeting EMD? It seems like a disoriented update.
 
Search results are just ridiculous. Some of the crap that ranks now is just unbelievable and getting worse with each update.

I can't find shit anymore. Anytime I have a problem with my tablet or phone all I get are tons of review sites and amazon pages which have nothing to do with troubleshooting my problem.

Other searches give me stupid videos or press releases that are overt affiliate promotions yet quality affiliate sites have been kicked out of the first page.

Basically it's looking more and more like either Google self promotion or promotion of other big companies that they probably get kickbacks from or who pay advertising. The little guy is getting squeezed out more and more.

Just another big business no longer interested in delivering quality now that they have the power. Now it's about maintaining and growing that power until they have fully monopolized as much as possible.
 
i am a little discouraged
One of my blog moved from page 1 from page 15
the first 5 sites thats come in serp are just crappy with almost no backlinks or just a fews and most of them have only between 1 and 3 articles

So wonder if i should take the crappy way too now
 
I have a few sites (all pages) out of the top 100 here but still indexed.

I noticed that the penalties are page specific. I have a few other sites where just the root URLs are not ranking in the top 100 but one of their deep URLs (not the homepage) are and they rank for the root keyword now. Have you seen the same thing?

STFU most people that commented here know how to build links Einstein. It's a fucked up update like always.
 
I'm having the same problem. Root url is gone, so some rankings are gone or have getten verry bad.

So, one of my EMD's is now gone.

This site had 18 Page one Rankings, all dropped out of 1000 except and this is funny, for my exact-domain match keyword which now sits on Page 1 #3 (formerly #2).
 
What should i do now? Cry or Laugh!!

Another update from me. 3 of my service websites are ranking higher than ever before, I'm happy as hell.
Not sure about my EMD-s since they never ranked anywhere..

Anyway , I'm happy with that update.. sad that emd-s got pwned tho
 
2 of my sites have been recovered: 0 -> 299 and 0 -> 296. Good sign :)
 
I lost the ranking for one keyword of my site :/
 
Bing is making a big push as being the better search engine,,,,, old google is struggling at making sure emd's are where they should be. 2013 is going to be fun one.

I surely hope Bing will do well. I had people over yesterday and even non-techies (including a retired school teacher) complained Google is displaying irrelevant results. The retired teacher noted on some queries she had to go to page 4 just to get beyond domain crowding. I of course took the opportunity to point out where she and others could provide Google feedback about their search experience and suggested she use Bing instead. :D

There's no question Google's profits will rise with the money driven algorithm changes they have/are making in organic search. But Google will lose marketshare. This Christmas, my plan is to originate all of my eCommerce transactions through Bing. And since Amazon is a member of The Internet Association, which is nothing but a corporate cartel seeking to consume even more of the one trillion dollar a year eCommerce industry, I'm going to do my best to not spend any money through them.
 
Google is like the Government you should never rely on them.
