I've seen that plenty of times on news sites. One small blog site will post something original and then then news sites like Daily Mail UK will post the entirety and guess who will rank at the top?

Goes to show that site authority > *

Yeah - you don't have to copy the source code either

I used to have a FOREX authority blog, and I used to get emails from the original content owners, asking how I outranked them using their own content

There was no big secret, I was just scraping Google search results using wprobot - but I had an established, highly SEO'd wp blog, that got posts onto the first page of Google in 3 to 11 minutes - just scrape Google, auto-post, and auto ping the blog's xml sitemap file - that's it really
 
I read this just a few hours ago from a friend who sent it to me on Skype.

Definitely a good read and definitely worth reading. I guess its nothing that surprising but nevertheless, its worth a read for sure.

It's showing the link with duplicate content first because he +1ed that link and he's logged-in from his gmail account. In case he logs out and does the same search again, he won't find the same link before the original. Google just customizes data for logged in users according to their +1s. Try it for yourself.
 
DejanSEO is a massive hypocrite anyway. He's all "look at me, I'm so whitehat", then you look at his clients' backlink profiles and it's just one shitfarm of paid, site-wide links.

Agree with you mate!!It happend to me but ones i loged off it didnt show anymore!!
 
That's right. When this new feature was implemented into SERP I +1ed my site with my own profile. Then my site was on the first place of the SERP for my main KW. But only when I was logged In...
 
So in theory you'd only benefit from this, if all google+ users have you in their google+ circles...

Yeah, Authority is all it takes to rank the site.
Nothing revolutionary about it.
 
i have 3 site with duplicate content.. in fact one of them is a exact copy of a suspended website, and it's ranking just unbelievably well
