Well, my day is absolutely ruined..

I don't know where to start, so I'll give you guys the short version of my story;

>Wake up this morning
>Cat is acting a little funny, stumbling around (which I found incredibly weird, never seen it before)
>Sneezing a lot, so it had me convinced that she just had a head cold or something
>Google the symptoms, many things come up (including lung cancer!)
>Get a bit more worried, low on cash at the moment but decide to pay the fee to take my cat to the vet
>Get her there, check her heart-rate, fur and skin, etc
>Vet gets to her teeth and says "Oh my"
>Think to myself "Oh god, what now?"
>Proceeds to tell me that my cat has an abscess tooth, causing her great pain when she eats and it's so infected that it's effecting her vital symptons
>Also tells me that it's about $900 FOR THE PROCEDURE
>I automatically go into "wat" mode and bring my cat home, now I'm trying to figure out what to do
>Don't have to money for it and my credit isn't good enough for the Vet's payment plan

This day could, and most likely will get worse.

bad things usually happen to me in 3's man, battle it out, things will get better.

Yesterday, paypal with over 10k$ in fees was limited for 180 days ... Today my accountant told me that all of my earnings that i've made this year will be taxed at 40% .... 1 other thing to happen.

Stick with it , things get better you find more methods, get more determination and you will fight it, just another chapter in the book of your life man

I appreciate the strong words brother, I'm trying! I've been bugging relatives to lend me the funds all day do no avail, but then again it isn't their problem.

And I hope fate saves you the trouble of having to deal with a third problem! Like you said, head up man.

yeowch dude, sorry to hear about your cat, and your finances. I just had a similar deal... a dog ran out in front of my car and I swerved to avoid and hit a curb instead. Screwed up the alignment, the rim, the tie rod, and of course the tire. Get to the mechanic and they tell me that there's a recall that I could have gotten fixed free but now has been too long (what???) and oh yeah, all the other tires are nearly bald after only 30k miles. $1,700 later.... fml

Sorry to hear that. In times like this, you might have to offer your cat the best possible end. Comfortable death - nothing immoral about that. Hospice care is based around that in some part.

Definitely a bad day but BELIEVE ME it could be a hell of alot worse. I am so used to bad days that when I see a good day I don't know how to act lol. But in all seriousness, it will get better for you

To be honest sometimes I feel like veterinarian offices are like mechanics, when my kitty got fleas I spen well over $400 getting rid of those f##kers!

I've had this cat for over 8 years, that would break my heart.

I work a 9-5 personally, I have an account, just not any "expendable" funds at the moment. Life is but a dream.

WTF!! 900$ is the price for a human surgery in my country, take your cat to another vet maybe?

I have three cats which I have grown to hate, they ruin my house and cost more money than what you would think. Although 900 is ridiculous, in the UK they have charity vets who do a cheap job, probably because they know all the chavs who live here would not pay vet bills but all own a dog.

Sorry to hear about your day... Here is an article on using pet store fish antibiotics (which are very inexpensive)to help cats with infections... Might not cure your cat, but could help your cats pain and give you some time to find other alternatives.

Post an ad on craigslist and in the CL forums on your situation and ask for donations. Post pictures of your cat etc and link to a paypal donate button. Offer to trade your services with the donors. If you can't figure out something fast unfortunately you have to make the tough decision.

I hadn't thought of that, do you think that could give me a shot? I don't want my cat to suffer, sometimes it doesn't seem like she is but I'm going to take the vets word for it. Where would I post on Craigslist? I've never used it before.
