Hi guys,

I've started to get a string of characters after my url's ie http://www.mysite.com/?v=e3f2909dd68d. My premalinks are and always have been set to "Post Name". I've searched online, but can't find an answer. Should I be worried about this? Even if it's nothing sinister, it's still ugly and I'm sure it can't do my SEO any good. Anyone know what it could be?

Thanks a bunch for your time guys,

James :)

Perhaps... but it sound more like a caching/javascript problem. Do you have any cache plugins installed?

Have you tried 1. clearing your browser cache? 2. Tried viewing the site incognito? 3. From another device/PC

If it persists try disable ALL plugins, clear cache, and enable them one by one in an attempt to isolate the problem.

I do have a caching plugin actually. But i have had it for a year. I will try what you said. Thank you SJC000 :)

are you using any social share plugins, sharethis plugin can cause this. Temporarily deactivare any social sharing plugins and see if permalink structure changes, also just check that new updates haven't affected them. Nothing sinister going on anyway

I've had something similar before. Best bet is to work your way backwards with any theme or plugin changes. Disable something, post something and use the process of elimination to work out what's going on.

This is most likely a caching plugin, but if you recently added cloudflare or another CDN to your site that might cause problems as well. This could be script crunching such as JS compression or minification. Your best bet is likely to disable all plugins and check your links again. You can certainly create a new post if you want, but most likely disabling the problematic plugin will eliminate these incorrect characters from being appended to your urls.

Once you see the issue is resolved you can reactivate the plugins one by one until you clearly identify which one is causing the problem.
