Weird...no sales for a very long time

I've got quite a weird problem with Clickbank, and would appreciate if someone more knowledgeable could explain this.
I've gotten into CB a few months ago, and created and ranked a website to the top of a targeted, high search keyword. I got my first sale when the site was at page 2.
As I've done more SEO, it moved to position 3-6 (varying), and I've been getting a sale or two per day, with few days in between with no sales. A month or so ago I've made some changes to the money page (improved it with better graphics and added testimonials), and my sales plummeted to almost nothing. Since then I tried reverting back to the original page, and did a lot of other experiments with it to try to at least get back to at least the original conversion rate, but to no avail, and I haven't made 1 sale in close to a month (yes, it's quite ridiculous).
The weird thing is that I've actually improved in rankings about 1-2 positions since then, and my hops have increased as well, and they convert about twice as well to order form impressions with improved money page, and I'm getting a lot of submits too (7-10 per day), while back then every 2-3 submit resulted in a sale.
I'm really desperate as to what should I do with this site, as the keyword has a lot of potential. Does anyone know what may be the problem?

1st - make sure everything is working well from the vendor's site. Click on one of your own affiliate links, which will take you to the vendor's page, and then click order. Make sure you do not get any errors and that at the bottom of the page it shows your affiliate id.

2nd - if everything seems to be working fine, contact the vendor. They should be able to give you insight and feedback on what is going on.

Assuming there are no apparent problems, my guess would be seasonality. May I ask what niche this is in?

Like mancar said, it may be a problem with the vendor.
I'd take his advice, and if things don't improve, try promoting a few other products if you can.

I've had similar problems with this, but never solved them. It's weird, based on what you said.

That's very weird, test ur page to see if the affiliate id when
they click on order..

maybe, also switch the product you are promoting

this will tell you whether the problem is with
the vendor of that particular product

I've been having a problem too that is similar to yours.Im in contact via email with the people that buy the product.. About 20% of the people couldn't access the vendors page so I lost those sales.When I check the vendors page it works fine... I'm thinking it could be a regional thing.

Defiantly contact the vendor.

If you are tired with the SEO, try PPC, social media, forums, etc for generating traffic and making sales with the CB.

If I may ask, how this is related to what the OP is saying?
Are you a bot? or you are trying to promote your big dog link? (US$20,00+ Monthly) it should be $10k per day.

I went through the product's sales funnel, and I found it kind of confusing, you first have to enter in your email, and only then do you get presented with the buy button.
I contacted the vendor through email, and I'm right now waiting for a response. Also changed the product for one which has a direct buy button, and made the necessary changes to my page. Got 3 hops already, but nothing else. Will see what happens, fingers crossed.

that's strange man. if you put too many optins then people will run off before you can show them the final product.

The problem is with the vendor,contact them or just promote same product but another vendor and test

I would advise against promoting products that collect emails on the vendor's landing page. What unscrupulous vendors do is to place their own affiliate links in the email swipe they send to prospects, hence overriding your hop.

Some sneaky vendors, instead of using their affiliate link in the email, will send prospects to a seemingly identical landing page (using a naked url) with 1 difference - the buy now button will not be a clickbank one but a direct paypal or 1shopping cart one.

To find out, enter your own email in their opt in, and when you receive the automated reply from the vendor, follow the link up to the order page.

I would start thinking about promoting another product!

I have a very similar problem at the same time. The Juni - Sales are really unexplainably low. I promote several products on CB, some usually sold 3-5 times a month, some 30-60 times, some 10 times etc. Mai was great and made lots of sales. But sales suddenly dropped extremely. I made 40% less sales in juni. Nothing really changed with my ranking or design - the rankings even got better. I also have seen a big drop in hops. But I have a very good explanation for all this mess - the World Championship for soccer. All my niches are Germans and they are crazy about soccer and spend all their free time and money on that stuff. Soccer, soccer, soccer. Hahaa.. So I can understand why they are not carrying about self improvement right now, but rather are having fun with World Championship soccer. Greets.

Click on the buy now link, go to the vendor page and enter your email. Don't buy. Wait for the vendor's emails and check what is going on behind the scenes. But your best option would be to change the product you're promoting. Best of luck.
